🌸 Springtime at Pengelly Retreat 🌸

It’s that time of year again when the gardens at Pengelly Retreat are blossoming once more… the gorgeous deep purple magnolia blooms are out & the pear trees that line the part up the lake are starting to blossom 🌸

We have a little availability in our beautiful lakeside houses over the next few weeks if you’d like to come and experience spring in these hidden gardens tucked away in west Cornwall 🌸

🌸 The Pengelly Retreat Tipi surrounded by nature and by the gentle waters of the stream 🌸

Here’s is a little peak into our beautiful tipi located in a peaceful little garden by the stream. In this cosy cocoon you are surrounded by birdsong and the sounds of the flowing stream.

Our tipi is perfect for a celebration meal for our wedding or anniversary guests, small group day retreats, also for 121 therapeutic work or simply as a peaceful space for your own reflections. We offer day and half day hire for non-residential guests.

The tipi is unfurnished except for a circular rug and of course its fairy lights and cosy log burner. We can provide a table add chairs on request. It also has plug points, WiFi and a kettle for hot drinks; a water tap outside and WC nearby.

Lakeside Yurt of dreams 🛖 nestled by the clear waters of a wild swimming lake in Cornwall 💙

Such a tranquil landscape with greens, blues and peaceful birdsong all around you. This lovely yurt also has its own cosy log burner 🔥 and en-suite bathroom complete with freestanding bath tub 🛁

There’s a heated outside shower in case you fancy a shower under the stars ⭐ and a little fire pit perfect for toasting marshmallows.

Our yurt is the perfect hideaway for couples, dreamy escape for travellers and can accommodate small families too. Your pooch welcome to join 🐶

🌸 February at Pengelly Retreat in Cornwall 🌸

These beautiful blossom shots were taken last year on 18 February which is a lovely reminder of how early spring starts here. I can’t wait to see our trees and land in bloom again!

We’re fully booked for the Valentines weekend 💕 but if you’re able to escape for a mid-week break we do have a little availability in both our dreamy lakeside house in the first and second weeks of February 🌸

Sunshine on a winters day at the Boat house Cabin at Pengelly Retreat in Cornwall ☀️ 💦❄️

So beautiful seeing the mist rising over the land and lake this morning. There was barely a ripple on the water and just the sound of birdsong. Magical ✨

We have a few days available in this stunning and cosy cabin by the lake from now till early next week, including this weekend. And the weather is looking good ☀️

Winter sunset over the waves at Porthleven today 💦☀️

How beautiful is this light over the picturesque Cornish harbour of Porthleven. Magical ✨

Some of the little shops are closed at this time of year but there’s still a buzz in the air and plenty of cafes & restaurants to choose from for Sunday lunch. We headed to for a delicious roast 😋 before walking it off with a stroll around the harbour.

Happy Twixtmas from Cornwall! These are the fab festive lights in nearby Mousehole, perfect for a post-Xmas potter.

Back at Pengelly, our guests have been enjoying watching the wild deer in the fields next to the lake. What a beautiful sight 🦌

Sandy paths, wild dunes and beautiful beaches 🏝️

Just a few photos from our afternoon stroll in the dunes at Gwithian today. So stunning! And hardly a soul on the endless beaches. Just a few intrepid dog walkers out on the sands 🐶

This is one of the reasons we love winter in Cornwall, we get to enjoy all this lovely space and wild nature 🤍

All you need is your wellies and woollies and a cosy log burner to snuggle up next to post-winter beach walk! 🔥

We’ve got a bit of space still available this month is our very cosy Boat House Cabin if you fancy a Cornwall escape. And your dog is welcome to stay too at this time of year 🐶

☀️ A little piece of summer at Pengelly Retreat, Cornwall 💦

It’s feeling a bit chilly in Cornwall today, so I’ve been cosying up by the log burner 🔥 and looking at some summertime photos ☀️

I love this one of summer at the Boat House Cabin - so fun having a mess about on the lake on the paddle board 💦

Although the lake is a bit chillier at the moment some of our brave guests have still taken the plunge for a cold water swim ❄️ Cold water swimmers we salute you! And luckily you can always warm up by the cosy log burner afterwards 🔥

🍂 Enjoying the beautiful autumn woodlands near Pengelly Retreat 🍂

Perfect for a Sunday stroll, this peaceful ancient grove is just up the road from us. There’s something so restorative about walking under the trees and the autumn colours are magical 🍂

There’s even a rope swing to fly through the trees on! 🍂✨

Hanging out at the beach in - in November!!!

Can you believe that this was the weather at the beautiful Praa Sands yesterday - I know, the middle November and it was warm enough to swim in the sea! And I am definitely not a hardy cold-water swimmer…

It was even warm enough to bask in the sun at the beach cafe for a (well-deserved) cuppa & cake after ☀️😎

Admittedly the sea was 🥶 and .watty does have his bobble hat on in the photo. But what a treat! Aren’t we lucky to live in Cornwall. ?!

❤️ Bath-tub beauties! ❤️

We love a nice soak in a bath tub full of bubbles 🫧 so we had to make sure both our beautiful lakeside houses at Pengelly Retreat had baths too.

At the Sail House Yurt you’ll find bath tub no.1 in the en-suite bathroom while at the Boat House Cabin bath tub no. 2 comes with a rather fabulous lake view.

So you can either enjoy outdoor bath and indoor shower at the Cabin or outdoor shower and indoor bath at the Yurt. So lots of bath tub soaking, lake swimming and hot showering all round!

Which bath tub floats your boat!? 🛁 💕

🐈 Checking out the facilities at Pengelly Retreat, 🐈

We have 2 beautiful cats at Pengelly, a brother and sister, who do love to come and check out the lakeside cabin and yurt. They are basically living the dream with beautiful gardens to roam about in and nice cosy accommodation to return to!

You might well see them when you come and stay, they like a bit of fuss and a stroke - unless you’re coming with your dog in which case they reserve the right to not make an appearance 😂 🐶
