🚂 Running Tomorrow – 'The Lakelander' 🌄

Tomorrow, The Lakelander heads to the historic city of Carlisle on a spectacular steam-hauled day out.

Passengers will join us from Nottingham, Attenborough, Derby, Belper, Chesterfield, Chinley, Stockport, Manchester Piccadilly and Preston.

From Preston, the train will be hauled by LNER A2 Class No. 60532 Blue Peter. Built in 1948 and named after the famous racehorse that won the 1939 Derby, Blue Peter is the only surviving Peppercorn A2 Pacific in existence, making it a truly special locomotive to see in action.

After tackling the famous climb to Shap Summit, passengers will have time to explore the historic border city of Carlisle, with highlights including Carlisle Castle, the cathedral and a variety of shops and cafés.

The return journey follows the world-famous Settle & Carlisle Railway, crossing the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct and passing through the stunning Yorkshire Dales.

🚂 Running tomorrow – The Settle & Carlisle Fellsman

Tomorrow, our The Settle & Carlisle Fellsman charter will be making its way across one of Britain's most iconic railway routes.

Passengers will enjoy a scenic journey through the Yorkshire Dales, across the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct and over the world-famous Settle & Carlisle line, with time to explore the historic city of Carlisle before returning home.

The train is currently planned to be hauled by LNER Pacific No. 60532 Blue Peter (subject to availability).
