Last week, Andrew and Marie hosted Luxury Vacations UK's fifth FAM trip of 2026, welcoming a distinguished group of US travel advisors to experience London as their clients would.
Our approach was simple: explore the capital in three considered sections, allowing time to appreciate its history, culture and craftsmanship at an unhurried pace, complemented by a historic pub walking tour.
ROYAL LONDON
From St James’s Palace and the Churchill War Rooms to Westminster Abbey, our Blue Badge guide tailored each visit to the group’s interests, from royal history to literature and music. The day concluded with a cheese and ale tasting and visits to Turnbull & Asser and Crockett & Jones, two distinguished British houses with a celebrated cinematic heritage.
OLD LONDON
At Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece, St Paul’s Cathedral, the group climbed all 528 steps to the Golden Gallery for sweeping views across the city. The afternoon took us further back in time, exploring the Roman Amphitheatre, the ancient Temple of Mithras and the 12th-century Temple Church.
MARITIME LONDON
In Greenwich, we discovered the magnificent Painted Hall and Royal Observatory, exploring the connections between London, the Thames and the legacies of Sir Christopher Wren and Sir James Thornhill. Our return to the city aboard the Thames Limo, passing Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and the Houses of Parliament, was the perfect finale, accompanied by a glass or two of English sparkling w**e.
