Currently sat at Denver Airport waiting for flight 5 of 6 on this epic 4 states in 12 days trip! I absolutely love my annual USA adventures, and I always try to add somewhere new that I haven’t experienced before. This time, it was Nashville and Fort Worth, Texas — both fantastic additions before ending in my beloved Fort Collins, Colorado.
I started in New York for just two nights and, after a six-year hiatus, it was so good to be back. I’d forgotten just how much I love this city. An added bonus was discovering a new go-to hotel for future stays (future New York clients — I’ll most likely be booking you here too!). It was a fantastic Midtown location, walkable to so many places, and I was lucky enough to have an amazing suite with incredible city views. It felt really special — and amazingly, there was no street noise either!
From there, I flew to Nashville for two nights. I stayed just outside Broadway on a Friday and Saturday night, and I can confirm it really is every bit as crazy as you see on TV! The music, the outfits, the crowds, the partying — it’s an experience in itself. Two nights was probably enough for me personally, but I’m so glad I experienced it. Thankfully, I also found a lovely little district a few miles away that offered a much calmer vibe when needed.
Next stop was Fort Worth for a three-night stay. I finally got to visit the Stockyards, which was something I’d really wanted to do. Honestly, I think two nights here is probably enough, so that’s something I’ll definitely bear in mind when planning future itineraries for clients.
And finally… my favourite place in the USA — Fort Collins, Colorado. Just an hour north of Denver, this was my fourth visit, and it keeps drawing me back year after year. To me, this is “real town USA”. It’s calm, pretty, independent, and has such an incredible food and drink scene. The people are genuinely friendly, and if you love mountains, rivers, lakes, and fresh air, this place is for you. There’s just something so special about Colorado — if you go nowhere else in the USA, I truly recommend this state. It’s simply one of the most wonderful places to be.
After 12 days, I can’t lie — it’s tiring! To really make the most of a trip like this, I’d recommend a 14-day-plus itinerary, which I’d be more than happy to help plan for you. For me, the perfect USA adventure is always a mix of big cities and smaller towns.
