A lovely old (I’ve know her a very long time - like me she’s barely 21!!) friend introduced me recently to the Merlin Bird ID app and I’m now obsessed! I’m quite good at identifying birds I can see but not from their songs.

This is the Head of Marketing’s very favourite place for a walk and I sat in the heart of an ancient rhododendron and listened to the birds while my new app told me what I was listening to - I was very excited to hear a rare Stock Dove!

I used to be so cool 😩😆🥴😎

Do you have a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)? We love ours & try and get out on them as much as we can.

Porthleven is great place to SUP from when the seas are calm & the harbour is a wonderful place to practice those first wobbly attempts to stand.

Penty Myghal has plenty of room to store inflated paddleboards behind the cottage or you can hire them from Vertical Blue Cornwall-SUP or join them for a paddleboard safari 💙

I had to take a detour today due to a closed road and passed a spot where there used to be a telephone box from where I used to call my bestie most evenings during secondary school - we’re still friends but she’s moved about as far away as she can while staying in the country & I’d love to meet up with her on the bench, that once was a telephone box, for a natter & a catch up - if you could meet up with anyone for a natter on this bench who would you choose??

4️⃣ we sleep 4 in two bedrooms with two bathrooms - wifi, smart TV, wood burner - cosy & contemporary - we have everything you need for a happy holiday including beach towels & chairs, a wind break, body boards & picnic sets!
🐾 we are dog friendly - please bring throws if your pooch loves the sofa as much as we do - we will provide a blanket, bowls & even poo bags!
🚘 we have a private parking space adjacent to the property large enough for one car
🪴 we have a secure & sunny patio garden with furniture & a Weber BBQ
🥘 we are within walking distance of dozens of food & drink options from ice cream vendors, licensed pasty shops, delis, cafes, takeaways, pubs & restaurants
🏖️ the beach is 10 minutes walk away & there are dozens of Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches within half an hour’s drive (dog friendly except for the first section of the beach which is dog free during the day in July & August only)
🚶‍♂️ we are situated right on the South West Coast Path with beautiful walks in every direction
🚤 we are on the edge of a busy working harbour so boat trips, fishing, SUPing & the freshest seafood are at your fingertips

10 years ago today I married MrD (together 17years) in a very small ceremony surrounded by our nearest & dearest - with little miss on my hip and our eldest two, my sister & niece taking centre stage with us - family is everything!
