A wonderful show of community spirit at Tremona in Watford, as our residents, families, friends and colleagues came together for a very special fundraising walk in support of the Alzheimer's Society!

With plenty of smiles, conversation and encouragement along the way, it was a lovely reminder of just how much we can achieve when we come together for a cause close to our hearts.

For our Tremona family, supporting those living with dementia means so much, and it was wonderful to see everyone stepping out to make a difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who walked, donated, cheered us on and helped make the occasion so special. 💜

20 Years of Gosh! And She Never Saw It Coming! 🌹

A little shocked, a lot excited and just a tiny bit bashful! We think it's fair to say Gosh wasn't expecting this lovely surprise!

This week, we celebrated an incredible 20 years of service from our wonderful Gosh, Greenhill's much-loved Head of Housekeeping!

Described by her colleagues as incredibly caring and full of wonderful little quirks, Gosh has brought so much personality, warmth and dedication to Greenhill over the years.

Pictured alongside Home Manager Veronica, who couldn't look prouder, Gosh was presented with her 20-year long-service award.

20 years of hard work, laughter, care and being wonderfully, unmistakably Gosh!

Once a Hairdresser, Always a Hairdresser! ✂️

They say you never forget a skill you've spent a lifetime perfecting… and our lovely Alberto certainly proved that!

Once the proud owner of his very own hair salon, Alberto stepped back into his old profession at St Lukes, treating one of our team members to a wash and blow-dry!

And just like that, years of experience came flooding back as he picked up the hairdryer and got to work.

It was such a wonderful moment seeing Alberto reconnect with something that had been such a meaningful part of his life, bringing back familiar routines and confidence.🌹

And by the looks of things, Alberto hasn't lost his touch!

Lettuce Introduce… The Big Whopper! 🥬

Well, you don't see one of these every day! 😂

We had quite the surprise at White Plains when the lovely Craig popped in to donate an absolutely ENORMOUS cabbage to our residents!

And their reactions were priceless, with one resident exclaiming, “What a biggen!” 🤣

The gigantic green visitor has since been affectionately named “The Big Whopper” by residents and staff, and it's certainly caused quite a stir around the home!

A huge thank you to Craig for such a wonderfully unexpected donation. Who knew a cabbage could bring so much laughter? 🌹

We're absolutely delighted to announce that Vicky Calver, Engagement Lead at St Andrews Care Home, has been named a national finalist in the National Activity Providers Association Rising Star Award! ⭐

With a record-breaking number of nominations this year, Vicky is one of just 10 finalists selected nationwide, what an incredible achievement!

Since joining St Andrews in June 2025, Vicky has brought endless creativity, compassion and enthusiasm to our residents' lives. 🌹

From establishing our very own residents' choir to organising unforgettable experiences, including a visit to Buckingham Palace, Vicky goes above and beyond to create meaningful moments and lasting memories.

Her passion for enriching the lives of those around her makes her a truly deserving finalist.

The national awards ceremony takes place on 22 January 2027, and we'll all be cheering her on!

Congratulations, Vicky! You're already a rising star in our eyes, and we couldn't be prouder! 🌹

Toto, I've a Feeling We're Not at The Radley Anymore! 🌈🎬

Gordon and David followed the yellow brick road all the way to the beautiful Cinema in St Albans for a very special dementia-friendly screening of The Wizard of Oz!

From familiar characters and unforgettable songs to a little movie magic on the big screen, it was a wonderful opportunity to reminisce, share memories and enjoy a much-loved classic together.

There's certainly no place like home, but outings like these are a lovely reminder that there's a whole world of experiences to enjoy beyond it!

Who says fairground rides are just for the youngsters? 🎡

Our residents certainly didn't think so as they headed out to the Baldock Charter Fair for an evening of bumper cars, spinning cups, fairground games and plenty of laughter!

Accompanied by Daniel and John , everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the bright lights, music and excitement of the fair.

A brilliant evening making memories, enjoying our local community and proving that a little adventure has no age limit! ❤️

Norman’s wife, Helen, moved to Osbourne Court after her dementia had progressed to the point where caring for her at home had become increasingly difficult.

Since moving in, Norman says he has seen a real difference in her wellbeing, with more freedom, companionship and specialist support around her.

As one of B&M Care’s Complex Dementia Hubs, Osbourne Court provides a calm, secure and highly specialised environment for people whose dementia needs have progressed beyond what can comfortably be supported in a traditional care setting.

The team supports people experiencing more significant changes in behaviour, anxiety, communication, mobility and emotional needs, with care tailored around the individual.
