✨ One of the perks of working in travel is the invitations to events and 'fam' trips. And yes, there are many (and many!) of them! The travel industry has always been a social one 🥂💃 – think "work hard, play hard" on steroids. It would be easy to get swept up in back-to-back parties and events, but I’ve learnt to be selective.

Every invitation I accept goes through my client-focused checklist:

✔️Will my clients benefit from the people, organisations or destinations I’ll meet?
✔️Do the suppliers and areas match my client base?
✔️Could this open up a whole new client stream?
✔️And finally – does it give me that little spark of excitement? ✨✈️

Because after all these years, I still need to feel that magic tingle – the same one I felt flying to Spain at 18 for New Year, or crossing the Nile to follow in the footsteps of the pharaohs when the hairs raised up on my arms and the back of my neck. 💫

So, when an invite landed from Aspire Escapes to meet with luxury buyers from Ireland, I was surprised to feel it again. Ireland might not immediately spring to mind as exotic or glamorous… but as I quickly discovered, it’s absolutely aspirational.

Early Monday morning saw me battling through M25 traffic 🚗💨 and checking in at the beautiful Fairmont Windsor Park. What followed was a day and evening of meeting some of the most delightful suppliers I’ve encountered in a long time. The result? I’ll be heading to the Emerald Isle very soon – and I know many of my clients will be too. 🌿🏰🍀

From breathtaking hotels to incredible experiences, Ireland has so much more to offer than you might imagine – and I can’t wait to share it all with you. ✨

And to finish, a thoughtful touch from the event: a team activity making silver rings 💍 – a lovely, lasting keepsake to remember a brilliant event washed down with an Irish G&T! Perfect....🍸

From 12 October 2025, the EU is bringing in a new Entry/Exit System (EES) for non-EU travellers. That means no more passport stamps – your comings and goings will be logged digitally instead.

If you’re travelling from the UK, US, Canada (and beyond), this could mean a few changes at the border – nothing to panic about, but worth knowing before you go.

🍷 Wine for breakfast? Yes please🙋🏼‍♀️

In Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it’s perfectly acceptable – encouraged, even – to be sipping your fourth glass of red by 10am. And when it’s this good, who are we to argue? 😌

We were travelling through the Southern Rhône on a luxury river cruise, and exploring couldn’t have been easier. 🚢 A smooth transition from ship to coach, a knowledgeable local guide sharing stories of popes, pebbles and perfectly aged vintages, and then a deep dive into one of France’s most revered wine regions. 🍇

The vineyards are stunning – sun-baked soil, twisted vines, and those famous galets roulés (large rounded stones) that help create such powerful, elegant wines. 🌿✨

The highlight? A morning tasting that started strong and only got better. Four different pours, each with its own character – bold, earthy, spicy, refined. The kind of breakfast that lingers long after the last sip. 🥂

Cruising might just be the most civilised way to eat, drink and travel your way through France. 🇫🇷

🌿✨ Viviers — a French daydream in real life.

Tucked along the Rhône, this tiny town gave us a morning of soft cobbles, shuttered windows, and flower-draped doorways. Viviers is everything you want a traditional French village to be — quiet, authentic, impossibly pretty.
We wandered through tiny shops, admired ancient stone houses, and soaked up the kind of beauty that doesn’t need to try too hard.

It was a brief stop — just a morning — but Scenic has a way of building these little soul-stirring moments into the journey. Effortless, elegant, included.

No need to plan, no rush, just… arrive and enjoy.

🍷✨ From hot wine marinades to Speyside malts this trip is a foodie's dream.

Today we took things up a notch with a Scenic cookery class, learning the secrets behind the perfect coq au vin (the hot wine marinade is now firmly in our repertoire). Rich, bold, deeply comforting — exactly like the best French cooking should be.

Then it was off to a speciality wine bar for a flight tasting that took our tastebuds from crisp whites to complex reds.

And the gala dinner? Let’s just say Scenic knows how to put on a show — refined, seasonal, and unforgettable.
We sailed into the night through one of many locks on the Rhone, dram in hand — a 16-year-old Speyburn single malt, smooth as silk and the perfect nightcap to a perfect day.

Every bite, every sip, every experience? All included.

That’s Scenic.

🚢🍷Today I’m boarding: A Scenic river cruise down the Rhône — for my own holiday 💫

One of the questions I get asked a lot is: “Where do travel agents go on holiday? And how do you choose when you’ve seen it all?”

Truth is, it’s not always about the bucket list — it’s about the feeling. For me, that means good food, good wine, slow days, and stories soaked in sunshine. A river cruise ticks every box. A new destination daily, no packing and repacking — just gliding from one beautiful place to the next with everything taken care of 🛶

So this week, it’s lavender fields, local markets, vineyards and châteaux. And as always, I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for those magical details I can pass on to you.

🧀🍷 Today I'm eating, drinking & travelling — in Lyon 🇫🇷

God its hot 🔥🥵🔥 35 degrees. The only thing to.do is spend four glorious hours in Les Halles Market, and honestly… it sums up why I travel.

The smells, the stories, the flavours. Tasting your way through a place like this isn’t just lunch — it’s a full-on cultural immersion. 🥖🧈

From oysters and Comté to the most heavenly patisserie, every bite tells a story.

This is the kind of travel I love — unhurried, local, delicious. The kind that fills your belly and your soul in equal measure.
