The staff were amazing, so attentive without being over the top, just that perfect balance that makes you feel properly looked after. The food? Spot on. Everything cooked just right.

There’s something special about getting out even when the weather isn’t perfect. The air feels fresher, your legs loosen up, and the world seems a little more alive.

Early mornings like this are my favourite.
Breakfast at the Castle Hotel in Hereford with my grandma, up before the rush, when everything felt calm and unhurried.

The room was peaceful, the coffee was strong, and the food was absolutely delicious, one of those slow, cosy starts that makes the day feel special in this miserable weather.

If you’re visiting the Barn in Herefordshire, this is definitely one of those good places to eat that’s worth getting up early for. Warm atmosphere, great food, and even better company. Simple, quiet, and just really lovely.

A little local wander around Michaelchurch Estate, Herefordshire. Clear blue skies, quiet country lanes lined with bare winter trees, a gentle stream to pause by, and frost-kissed ferns crunching underfoot.
It is one of those walks that reminds you how peaceful things can be when you slow down and really look around.
Cold air, winter light, and the kind of calm you only find out here. Definitely one for the soul
