Australia's Most Famous City: Sydney 🇦🇺

Sydney is a city that perfectly balances busy city life with easy access to beaches, parks, and waterfront areas. 🌊

Known for landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, you'll also find a mixture of neighbourhoods, coastal walks, and public spaces here that make it a delight to explore.

Areas around the harbour stay active throughout the day, while the beaches and coastal suburbs have a noticeably slower pace. ☀️

The ferry network gives some of the best views of the city, and places like Bondi, Manly, and Darling Harbour are popular with locals and visitors year-round.

Best visited in spring or autumn, Sydney is an ideal gateway to Australia and a perfect introduction to many of the country’s most iconic landscapes, coastal scenery, and attractions. ✨

Hunter Valley, New South Wales: Wonderful Wine and Views from Above 🍷

The Hunter Valley is one of Australia’s best-known wine regions and a must-visit destination for vinophiles. Located just a few hours from Sydney, you'll find more than 150 wineries and an outstanding gourmet food scene here.

Start the day with a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the vineyards before exploring some boutique wineries and tasting the Hunter Valley’s signature varieties, like Semillon and Shiraz. After getting your fill of wine, take time to experience Hunter Valley's thriving food scene: eat at a gourmet restaurant and try some locally produced artisan cheeses.

Pokolbin and Lovedale offer the perfect mix of premium wineries, scenic countryside and gourmet experiences. We'd recommend booking a tour or hiring a car (with a designated driver!) as there can be a fair distance between wineries and towns.

Port Macquarie, New South Wales: A Very Aussie Seaside Town 🇦🇺

Located on Australia’s stunning New South Wales coast, Port Macquarie is well-known for its warm climate, beautiful beaches and relaxed pace of life, but it’s the incredible wildlife experiences, with a little history sprinkled in, that make this seaside town truly unforgettable.

The Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie gives visitors the chance to learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of injured koalas, while nearby rainforest areas and nature reserves offer opportunities to spot koalas in the wild. You can also follow the 'Hello Koalas' Sculpture Trail, to spot some of the 80+ fiberglass koalas around the town, each hand-painted by local artists. 🐨

You can also enjoy a camel ride along Lighthouse Beach, a truly memorable way to take in the coastline, especially at sunrise or sunset. Camels were first brought to Australia during the exploration of the Red Centre and have stuck around ever since! 🐪

For those more interested in history and heritage, the Port Macquarie Hastings Heritage Walks are another wonderful experience. Guided by local heritage expert Mitch McKay, these walking tours bring the town’s fascinating convict history to life, with stories of early settlers, archaeology and historic sites dating back to the 1820s.

Combine these experiences with waterfront restaurants, coastal walks, warm weather and migrating whales to spot in season, and it’s easy to see why so many visitors fall in love with this part of Australia. ☀️

Coffs Harbour, New South Wales ☀️

Located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, Coffs Harbour is one of Australia’s favourite coastal stopovers, famous for its banana plantations, surf beaches and relaxed seaside atmosphere.

Home to the iconic Big Banana- Australia’s first 'big thing', the Big Banana Fun Park has been welcoming visitors since 1964. 🍌 Today, the park features waterslides, mini golf, ice skating and toboggan rides, making it a popular spot for families and road trippers alike.

Beyond the attractions, Coffs Harbour is surrounded by stunning national parks and rainforest walks, with more than 30 beaches dotted along the coastline. The region is also one of the few places in Australia where mountains meet the ocean, creating some spectacular scenery.

Spend your time browsing local art and craft shops, enjoying beachside cafés, learning to surf, or exploring the beautiful North Coast Regional Botanic Garden with its guided discovery walks. ✨

Escape to the heart of Byron Bay at Crystalbrook Byron 🌴✨

Set amongst 45 acres of subtropical rainforest and just a short stroll from the beach, this quiet luxury retreat is the perfect place to slow down and soak up Byron Bays’ laid-back charm.

Spend your days unwinding by the infinity pool, indulging in the relaxing day spa, or exploring the boutique shops, cafés and spectacular beaches Byron Bay is famous for.

Jadie, our Australia travel consultant recently visited - here's what she had to say about it:

"I would 1,000,000% recommend this property! You're nestled in the rainforest, just a 5-10 minute walk from the beach. The boardwalk around the complex was perfect for a relaxing walk, and the spa, pool and yoga sessions were fab. I stayed in the gorgeous Treetops Resort Suite, and hearing the birds and nature from my room was just unreal!!"

Cape Byron Lighthouse is located in the most Easterly part of Australia, and it is the first place on the continent to see the sun rise. Perched on the edge of the Pacific, the views here are breathtaking. 🤩

From Byron Bay, follow the 3.7km walking trail through lush rainforest, and grassy clifftops, surrounded by the sights and sounds of Cape Byron. Soon enough you will see the white lighthouse before you, beckoning you towards it.

Take a guided lighthouse tour for the chance to step inside and learn about its fascinating history. In operation since 1901, the last keeper left in 1989 when an automated light took over. The attached Maritime Museum at the lighthouse's base is well-worth a look too. ⚓

While the view is incredible at any time of the day, early birds are sure to be rewarded for their effort as the sunrise here is spectacular. Watching it rise over the Pacific Ocean is something you're sure to remember, especially as you may even spot a dolphin, turtle, or whale!

This lesser known spot of Byron Bay is certainly worth adding to your list. ✏️

We've all been glued to our screens watching I'm a Celebrity... South Africa recently, but have you ever wondered where the celebs usually set up camp when they're in Australia?

Dungay Creek near Springbrook National Park has hosted the show for the past two decades, providing the perfect bushland backdrop, but it's location may surprise you...

Located in New South Wales, just under an hour's drive from the Gold Coast, Dungay Creek is not quite the as remote as it appears, with celebs able to make a quick getaway if they do call it quits!

If you fancy a jungle (or, rainforest) adventure of your own, explore the Gold Coast hinterland for yourself. You can follow a 2-hour hiking trail through Springbrook National Park spotting waterfalls and making the most of lookout points.
