I’m lucky enough to run three local businesses right here in our community – HB Travel, HB People, and HB Workspaces.

HB Travel helps people create amazing memories through holidays, cruises, and travel experiences. We also run a partner in travel scheme where we support local charities
Hesketh Bank AFC, Presfield School & College and Recycling Lives

HB People helps businesses find great people and provides HR support to help organisations grow.

Tomorrow marks the start of Small Business Week, and it’s a great reminder of just how important local businesses are to our communities.

Every time you choose a local café over a chain, a local pub for a drink, an independent restaurant for dinner, a local travel agent, hairdresser, travel agent, accountant, tradesperson, or workspace, you’re helping keep jobs, skills, and investment right here in our community.

We’ve all seen too many local businesses disappear over recent years. Pubs, restaurants and independent shops continue to face huge challenges, and once they’re gone, they’re incredibly difficult to bring back.

You can order almost anything online these days, but you can’t replace a chat over a coffee, a business meeting, a networking event, or a catch-up with friends through a screen. Well technically you can but it's not the same.
