2025 has been my busiest year to date since opening BTC in 2017. I have been honoured to meet many new guests and welcome back the familiar ones. As the saying goes, ‘Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.’ I have indeed loved looking after you all in 2025. Your words of encouragement have been so appreciated.
In order to re-charge the batteries, I have decided to close the cottage for January and February.
With renewed vigour, I look forward to meeting and welcoming you to Bay Tree from March 2026.

I have been put under serious pressure to officially introduce myself on here and as anyone who knows me will agree, it took some persuasion for me to talk about myself 😜 😳 (What’s the maximum word count?) So, here I am …. Susan, the face behind Bay Tree Cottage - Wife of one, sister of two, mother of three and nana of five! Retired primary school teacher and proud owner of two miniature schnauzers.
I enjoy gardening, baking and a little bit of retail therapy and try my best to keep active with Pilates and walking Dolly and Maddie (my doggies.) I enjoy a good laugh and love to spend time with family - between us, we can whip up a gathering in minutes! Any excuse for a party! 🥳

As if the toasty underfloor heating and the crackling wood burning stove aren’t comforting enough, we’ve gone the extra mile and furnished the cottage with a basket of soft, huggable, sleepy blankets. Pour yourself a freshly brewed cup of tea and keep cosy at Bay Tree Cottage

Stuck a fake pumpkin on the fireplace and ticked off Hallowe’en this year 🤭 We tend not to get trick or treaters trekking out to the countryside, especially on a dark stormy night 🎃
