Things you should probably know about me… ✈️🌎

I’m Emma. Travel Counsellor, travel designer and slightly obsessed with finding out what’s around the next corner. 😂

I’ve travelled to 45+ countries, from family adventures in Thailand and Vietnam to exploring Cambodia and India — and yes, I’m the person who will happily get up at 4am for an Angkor Wat sunrise… although I reserve the right to complain about the alarm. 🤣

I’ve travelled with my family, travelled for work, travelled with friends and travelled to places that have completely surprised me.

And that’s probably why I love what I do.

Because I don’t just want to know where you can go.

I want to know:
✨ What’s actually worth doing?
✨ Which hotel is really worth the extra money?
✨ Where can you escape the crowds?
✨ What will your kids actually love?
✨ What experiences you want to have?
✨ And how do we make the whole thing feel like your holiday?

That’s where I come in.

I’m your person for the big adventures, the once-in-a-lifetime trips, the family holidays, the cruises, the Disney magic, the slightly quirky ideas… and the “I have absolutely no idea where I want to go, but I know I need a holiday” conversations. 😂

🌅 What a day in Cambodia!

Up at 4am for sunrise at Angkor Wat — and even though I was here only 8 weeks ago, it was just as incredible the second time around. ❤️

Then lunch at Spoons, a Planeterra project supporting young people into training and employment — so lovely to enjoy a great meal while supporting such an important initiative. 🌱

And finally, back on the water at the floating village. I visited just 8 weeks ago, but the difference in the water levels was amazing to see!

Another brilliant day of travel, experiences and making a difference. 🇰🇭✨

One of the things I’ve loved most about this trip is seeing how travel can genuinely make a difference. ❤️

Today we visited Spoons Restaurant in Siem Reap, a fantastic social enterprise supported by Planeterra, which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds gain the skills, training and experience they need to build a career in hospitality.

So whilst we were enjoying a delicious lunch, we were also supporting something much bigger — giving young people opportunities, confidence and a pathway into work. 🙌

This is exactly the kind of travel experience I love. It’s not just about seeing the sights… it’s about meeting people, understanding the place you’re visiting and knowing that your tourism spend can have a positive impact.

And, of course, the food was pretty good too! 😋🌏

This is what responsible travel can look like. ❤️

🇰🇭✨ What an experience this is!

I’m currently in Cambodia taking part in the G Adventures Summit of Change, and I honestly feel so lucky to have been given this opportunity.

I’ve spent the last few days getting out, meeting local people, experiencing Cambodia in a completely different way and learning more about the incredible work that Planeterra does to make travel have a positive impact on the communities we visit. 🌏💚

And this is exactly the sort of thing I love about travel.

Yes, we get to see amazing places… but it’s the people we meet, the stories we hear and the experiences we share that stay with us.

So, I’m soaking it all up and bringing it home with me… along with a LOT of stories! ❤️

And if you fancy a trip that’s a little bit different, a little more meaningful and full of those “wow, I’ll never forget that” moments — you know where I am. 😉
