‘’Bude Sea Pool, Cornwall
Built in the 1930s, this is one of the great survivors of the tidal pool genre, setting in stone the form of an existing natural pool (open all year; entry by donation; budeseapool.org). Now managed by local volunteers, this large, trapezium-shaped lagoon is refreshed by the sea twice a day. Its position, on Summerleaze Beach, is an opportunity for double-dipping — dive into the waves then wallow in this safe, saltwater pool.’’
