This year marks an incredible milestone as our business celebrates 40 years of trading on 01 June.
Back in 1986, our founder Ron Gerry, found himself redundant at the age of 50. Rather than letting that setback define him he decided to start a business in his hometown. After much deliberation, he chose to open a travel agency – and the rest as they say is history.
I began my own journey here 37 years ago as a humble YTS trainee, desperate to leave school and earn some money – even if it was only Β£29.50 per week!! Twenty years ago, I became the proud owner of the business and I continue to feel incredibly grateful for the support and loyalty of our customers in Holsworthy, the surrounding areas and further afield.
To celebrate our 40th anniversary, we have organised a Grand Raffle in aid of Sarcoma UK, a charity that is very close to our hearts. We would be truly grateful if you would consider supporting this wonderful cause by purchasing a ticket or two? We have some fantastic prizes on offer including a four night break to Toronto inclusive of flights, accommodation and a day trip to Niagara Falls, a hotel voucher, a case of South African Wine and some delicious hampers! Given that Ron first offered me a job at Holsworthy Show all those years ago, it seems only fitting that the raffle draw will be held there on 27 August. The draw will take place in the main ring following the Grand Parade making it an especially meaningful moment in our 40 year celebration.
