Harvest’s in. Home-grown courgettes, tomatoes, padron peppers, garlic, onion plus a tiny aubergine, some pea shoots and micro-greens, which I turned into a rather lovely bruschetta with my sourdough. Chuffed to have spotted a fair number of marsh fritillaries while out surveying Dunsdon Nature Reserve for today. Numbers of this increasingly rare butterfly definitely seem to be on the up here after a disappointing 2024.

Spring is well advanced now -  the wisteria’s looking good, and yesterday I heard the first cuckoo I’ve ever heard here....

Well, this happened last week. Quick thing at Okehampton town hall, slightly less quick session at the local Spoons, followed by pornstar martinis, boeuf/tofu en croute, much wine and, er, karaoke (thankfully not pictured). Thanks to our lovely fam for making it a weekend to remember!
