If you’ve ever taken on a big project, you know there’s a lot of emotions that come with it.

At the beginning, we’re full of excitement at the possibilities.
Then you hit a long period of despair when no matter how hard you work, things don’t seem to get better, and often get worse.

Then all of a sudden, that all changes and things start going back together and you take some big steps forwards. We are here now! And it feels amazing!

The distressed look, love it or hate it?

We actually hadn’t planned to go back to a distressed look when we repainted the cupboards the this lovely bold teal, but it just seem to hit too much of a punch.

When we sanded it back, it’s nice to see is the old purple showing through, both colours compliment each other and softens its appearance.

So back to the original question. Do you love or hate the distressed look?

The Apple Crate got its name from the surrounding Apple Trees. These are beginning to bloom and look lovely in the afternoon sunshine. If you look closely you can just see the Apple Crate.

Such a beautiful winters morning. We followed deer footprints in the snow while a little Robin chirped as we filled the feeders and the sound of the river made everything quite magical
