Join us in celebrating the official birthday of the British Sovereign as we go to London to see the Trooping the Colour ceremony, taking place on June 13 this year. This two-century-old impressive display of pageantry is a grandiose parade with the King’s troops, The Household Division, on Horse Guards and King Charles III himself attending and taking the salute. Over 1400 officers and men are on parade, together with 200 horses, and over 400 musicians playing as one. The King will travel down The Mall from Buckingham Palace in a royal procession with a sovereign’s es**rt of the Household Cavalry.

***TROOPING OF THE COLOUR***

THIS SATURDAY 13th June

Trooping the Colour is the spectacular annual military parade marking the British Sovereign's official birthday.
The 2026 parade takes place on Saturday, 13 June 2026, on Horse Guards Parade in London, featuring over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and an RAF flypast over Buckingham Palace.
Location: Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, London (with the procession moving down The Mall).
Participants are drawn from the Household Division (including the Foot Guards and the Household Cavalry).
The "Colour": Refers to the regimental flag of the battalion. Historically, these flags acted as rallying points in battle.
"Trooping": Young officers march the flag slowly between the ranks of soldiers so everyone can recognize their specific unit flag.
The tradition of celebrating the monarch's birthday in June was formalized by King George II in 1748 to take advantage of better summer weather for outdoor public festivities.

Join us for a trip to the Toon!

There are many sites to see in the city of Newcastle such as the Tyne Bridge, the Discovery Museum and ‘St James Park’ the famous football ground.

Newcastle upon Tyne is a true regional capital that clings to the north bank of the River Tyne that hosts seven city bridges. The most famous of these bridges is perhaps the great arched suspension bridge that carries the A1. The oldest of the bridges is the Robert Stephenson’s high combined road and rail bridge that was erected in 1849.

Between those two bridges is an elegant swing bridge that turns on a central pivot, built-in 1876. All the other bridges are 20th century bridges, one carries the metro and over and underground railway system that first opened in 1980.

Weds 10th June. £24pp. Give us a call on 01226 241843, book online or pop in to store to book.
