On Thursday, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting and welcoming aboard Kittiwake, Rebecca is a visual storyteller, photographer, filmmaker, drone pilot, ocean advocate, and President of the board of trustees for Whale Wise.

Rebecca shared a selection of breathtaking photographs she captured with us at Lundy Island, and I’m sure you will all agree that they are absolutely out of this world!

A New Relationship has been formed!

We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration between Kittiwake Charters and Ecotribo! On Wednesday, we welcomed Tyrone and Carrie from onboard Kittiwake to share ideas with the primary objective of cleaning our seas.

Since launching Kittiwake Charters in 2023, our dream has been to create a business that celebrates our local area while actively working to protect and clean our waters—both above and below the surface. We’re committed to clearing plastic wherever we can.

Along the way, we strive to educate our community about the importance of clean seas and the impact of plastic pollution.

When we learned that Ecotribo had moved to the area, we were eager to take them out on the water to identify where much of the plastic ends up.

We also highlighted the picturesque secluded bays where ghost nets can wash ashore.

Ecotribo specialises in clearing plastic and transforming it into meaningful, purchasable items. In the coming months, we look forward to sharing ideas on how to more effectively clean our local waters.

We are incredibly excited to embark on this journey with like-minded individuals!

Extremely proud of our very own Father and Son team on this special day ❤️

Dave, a seasoned member of our lifeboat crew was joined last year by his son Jenson who also decided to volunteer with us. After going through training, Jenson recently passed out as inshore lifeboat crew and has also had his first shout!
When a dog was swept into the sea near Combe Martin recently, Jenson was quickly on the scene with the rest of the boat crew.

Jenson remembers “Although I felt a surge of nerves, I was equally excited to put all my hard work and training into practice. Thankfully, it paid off, as we were able to reunite Pip with his grateful owners. To our delight, we also witnessed a dolphin breach right in front of us, which many consider a sign of good luck!”

Jenson and Dave are a father and son team we are very proud of. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!

What an incredible sight to see the world’s last going paddle steamer, the Waverley, here in Ilfracombe!

Can you spot kittiwake alongside her? I think the Waverley is ever so slightly bigger than us! 😁

A heart warming story and fantastic showcase of our stunning Exmoor coast along the South West Coast Path!

Walking the Exmoor stretch from Minehead to Combe Martin is equivalent to climbing Snowdon two and a half times and if that's not for you (!) you can join us in comfort and style on our Salt Path Cruise Special on 21st June 2025.

This two and a half hour cruise explores the Lynmouth to Combe Martin section of the South West Coast Path from the sea, the most spectacular backdrop in the film.

In 2024 the South West Coast Path was named 'the world's happiest walk' come and explore it with us on the world's happiest boat!
