The Tarka Leisure centre, in the centre of Barnstaple has some great facilities if you fancy a swim, a workout at the gym, a ski lesson on the slopes or somewhere to wear the kids out with the the giant inflatable course X-Treme Air.

Tarka Leisure Centre's pool facilities have been recognised with a national award!

The leisure centre was a winner at the UK Pool and Spa Awards 2023 in the Commercial Pool Project Of The Year category.

The Tarka facilities were also shortlisted for the Outstanding Technical Design award, while the leisure centre's operator, Lex Leisure, was shortlisted in the Operator of the Year category.

Worth a visit - away from the crowds.

🙋‍♀️ HELLO! WELCOME TO SUMMER SEASON AT BRAUNTON BURROWS! 🙋‍♀️

For those that don't know we are Sandy lane car park. Situated in the middle of Braunton Burrows with many trails through the sand dunes. The most popular is the beach trail - a mile and a quarter through beautiful scenery takes you to the middle of Saunton Sands. Ever wondered how people find themselves deserted on golden sand beaches mid summer? This is how! They avoid the tourist trap & put the effort in to find the quiet parts 😜

There's also history trails for those with interest in military history and WW2,the American soldiers trained here and left many structures on the Burrows- the most famous are the landing crafts used for practice for the D day landings.
The nature and flower trails are especially interesting for those with a love for botany & the burrows are home to many rare plants. Guided walks for the flowers are run throughout summer 🪻🌷🪻
We have 'the hut' where parking is paid for. £2.50 no matter what season its always £2.50 🤗 we sell hot drinks, cold drinks and plenty of snacks. Through summer we will stock ice creams & sometimes you get terrible jokes for free 🤣

So come on down - explore this beautiful spot & grab a drink, bring the dog, bring the kids and maybe try some sand boarding down the giant dunes 👌😎🐾
