This afternoons session has been the which has put everything we’ve experienced in to context; it’s been a great reminder of what a community‑focused travel feels like. The biggest thing that’s stood out is the local tour leader. When the person guiding you actually lives in the place you’re exploring, it makes a huge difference. They know where to go, what to avoid, and how to make the whole experience feel real rather than touristy. It’s been brilliant.

I’ve also learned more about the Intrepid Foundation while I’ve been here. They support projects in the communities they operate in, from conservation to women’s empowerment and local development. You can actually see the impact rather than just read about it online.
