Thistle Excursions is looking for an experienced, friendly and professional Tour Guide to operate shore excursions from South Queensferry and Newhaven during the cruise season.

We are particularly interested in guides with knowledge and experience of:

🏰 Edinburgh Castle
⛪ Rosslyn Chapel
🏛 Edinburgh Old Town & Royal Mile
📖 Scottish history, legends and storytelling
🚢 Cruise ship shore excursions

The ideal candidate will be confident speaking on a coach microphone, engaging with international visitors and delivering a memorable guest experience.

⭐ £250 per day guiding in a 33-seater coach
⭐ Seasonal cruise ship work commencing August 2026

Locals - Easter Ross - we have spaces on our bus to Cawdor Castle on Tuesday 9 June (next week). This is due to far less people travelling this year due to the war and world economy taking a dive.

I don’t like to see waste or empty seats so if you’d like to come along free of charge (but you’ll pay yourself into the castle - around £13) then send me a message and I’ll book you in.

You meet us down bottom of King Street about 8.45am. Tour leaves at 9.00am. It goes to:

Culloden Battlefield
Cawdor castle
Inverness
Loch Ness
Drumnadrochit
Robertson’s farm in Beauly to see highland cows.

Returns at 4.00pm.

This is for locals not local visitors or holidaymakers.

OFFERING A FREE TOUR:

On Tuesday 19 May we’re running our lovely tour from Invergordon to Cawdor Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, Inverness, Loch Ness, Robertson’s Farm in Beauly to see highland cows then back to port.

This is for the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship.

We have 16 spare seats, as this year is much quieter for guests due to many cancelling their cruise due to the situation with the war.

If you’re local to the area and would like to go on our tour all you need to pay is yourself into the castle (around £13) and you can come on our bus tour FREE.

We have a tour guide giving you information throughout all of the journey. You might learn some new things about your area.

We leave at 8.30am from King Street/Shore Road, so you meet us at 8.15am and we return at 5.00pm.

This tour is specially designed for those who love films, fame, legends and the magic of Scottish history. This tour is normally in a bus but if you are from a smaller ship or German ship it is more likely to be taken in a 9 seater minivan. Please ask if it is important to know.
