Did you know that Ardersier now has a railway stop? To be honest it is actually at the Airport, but buses call at the stop and then go past the airport to Ardersier village. The railway line runs between Inverness and Aberdeen and there is free parking at the station so it is very handy if you want to let the train take the strain. Now when I wait for a train, I just generally mooch around on the platform, this group of teenagers dancing to Beautiful Sunday whilst waiting for the Aberdeen train at Ardersier take train travel to a whole new level. www.dolphinview.co
"What an amazing little cottage. So cosy and immaculately clean. Lynn and Mike have thought of everything humans and dogs could want which is lovely. Lynn was so helpful from the outset and answered my many questions really quickly. It was an absolute pleasure to spend Christmas in such a lovely little spot. And the view …… who needed telly!"
Thank you to Chrissie and Dave for their lovely review after their Christmas holiday at Dolphin View Cottage with their three cairns. Unfortunately they missed any snow during their holiday so I have shared a photo of my cairn enjoying a snow day! www.dolphinview.co
"Sometimes they make the loopy de loop". I was lucky enough to be standing on a cliff watching the Red Arrows display last week, going through the photos and videos just now on my laptop with the sound on, I love the rather excited children's comments about doing the loopy de loop! www.dolphinview.co
Highland Cathedral played by the Portsoy Pipe Band at the 2024 Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy - nice local gig for them. www.dolphinview.co
Further along the Moray coast today, Buckie lifeboat visiting the Glenglassaugh Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy.
Introducing my hens… included in the cottage hospitality pack will be eggs from my hens. There is absolutely nothing like a fresh egg laid by free ranging hens. The huge black hens are my elderly Black Rocks who are now aged between 5 and 8, the red hens are the ones I rescued a couple of months ago, they came from a commercial flock and were no longer commercially viable, I didn’t take photos of them when we got them as they were rather bald and straggly. They are now living their best life with us and rewarding us with lots of lovely eggs. Obviously we have no hope of a neat garden at home, they really are happy being destructive. www.dolphinview.co
It’s a lovely day today so we popped over to Chanonry Point, Mike spotted a dolphin which was a surprise as the tide was completely wrong but I was too busy watching Hamish snuffling in the washed up kelp so missed it. The light was nice on Fort George though. www.dolphinview.co
We don’t know how old Hamish is as he is a rescue dog from the SSPCA, we think he’s at least 13, one thing for sure though, snow brings out the inner puppy in him. Happy snow days. www.dolphinview.co
