Charity of the Month

As many of you will know, to mark our 50th anniversary, we’re donating £500 each month in 2025 to a different charity chosen and nominated by our team.

Our June donation went to Lucky2BHere, a Highland charity that provides defibrillators and life-saving CPR training across communities in the Highlands and Islands. The charity was nominated by our guide Peter, who also volunteers as one of their trainers.

Here’s what Peter had to say:

“Lucky2BHere started in 2009 in Portree, and the main purpose is for the provision of defibrillators to communities and training in CPR and defib to people in these communities.

They have distributed more than 1000 defibs in less than 15 years mainly to the Highlands and Islands.

I am one of the volunteer trainers and training people to save someone’s life is very important to me.

Ross Cowie the founder of the charity who himself suffered 13 cardiac arrests in 2006 unfortunately passed away in October 2024, but we are hoping to carry on doing the good work he started.”

Congratulations Manessa and Bankole✨

We had the absolute joy of hosting a surprise proposal on board recently. Manessa had always dreamed of seeing Loch Ness — and as she took in the view for the first time, she turned to find her partner Bankole down on one knee.

The moment was full of smiles, cheers from fellow passengers, and lots of love. We were so proud to play a part in their special day.

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we’re proud to support charities close to the hearts of our team by donating £500 each month throughout this special year to causes they’ve personally chosen.

Sunflower Homecare (Highland Hospice) was nominated by our Assistant Operations Manager, Mark Noble, in honour of the exceptional care they gave to his mum and family.

"Last year, my Mum received end of life care by Sunflower Home Care. Mums last wish was to be at home and with the support from Sunflower and others we were able to make this happen, nothing was too much for the carers who provided incredible comfort and support during this time. I will be forever grateful to Sunflower Home Care and will always be thankful to all the carers for everything they did for us and my Mum."
