Here in the North East of Scotland we are lucky to have so many amazing ancient monuments. It is crucial that these historical masterpieces are respected and preserved and it is incumbent on us all, especially us tour guides, to look after these sites. Encouraging visitors to climb on these stones and monuments to get a 'fun' photo is irresponsible. Please exercise respect at these sites, remembering that some are burial grounds.

It was a chilly start at Aberdeen South Harbour picking up guests from the cruise ship Norwegian Sky. Royal Deeside also cold. A wee dram at Royal Lochnagar Distillery warming my guests. A cup of tea does the same for me. A dreich day at Balmoral Castle too but the beautiful scenery more than compensates.

Lovely day tour with two sisters from the US. Dramatic Dunnottar Castle never fails to impress nor does the scenic drive through beautiful countryside across to Royal Deeside. Lunch in The Fife Arms Braemar, Braemar Castle, Balmoral Castle and a different, but equally lovely, drive back to Aberdeen.

Aberdeenshire Tours is Nine Today.

Nine years ago today I met four Icelandic Dental Nurses when they booked the very first Aberdeenshire Tour. We remain firm friends today and they return every year with their families. These nine years running Aberdeenshire Tours have been really enjoyable and I have met so many lovely people from all over the world. I'm blessed to live in such a beautiful place with so many wonderful things to see and do. I love my job.

Day two with my Connecticut guests saw us visit Duff House, Banff and fishing villages on the Moray Coast.

Today started off a wee bit dreich for a lovely visit with two guests from Connecticut here for a fishing holiday. Starting off with a tour and liesurely tasting at Glendronach Distillery near Huntly. Delicious lunch at Delgatie with a wee tour of this 11th century castle and the sun made an appearance. Finally a great guided tour of fabulous Fyvie Castle.

The last two tours have been with guests visiting Scotland for the first time. It's such a pleasure giving folk just a snippet of what we have here in the North East of Scotland.
Today Rachel and Mike from Tennasee, enjoyed a great castle tour, and Rachel celebrated a special birthday with lunch at Milton of Crathes. The day was rounded off with a stop at Aquorthies stone circle before heading to Inverness by train.
