All ready and prepared for our arriving guests…We may not have the heatwave hitting most of the UK right now, but it’s warm and the light through the mist is quite beautiful.

Bring me sunshine…(!)
The island has been enjoying plenty of sunny days and evenings lately, but it’s definitely a little chilly for this time of year.
It’s perfect for enjoying long beach walks though and the light is beautiful too.
We have a three or four night stay available from Monday 15 June.

Hiking trails or gentle strolls…
The east coast of Harris is a beautiful area to explore on foot. The landscape is completely different to the west and totally unique in parts too. With its moon-like landscape, meandering paths, small villages, beautiful lochs, wildlife watching, some serious hikes, interesting galleries and the fabulous Skoon cafe - it offers lots of opportunities for visitors.
Time to lace up and get outside…

Sunsets have started…
As the island opens up for ‘the season’, so the glorious sunsets begin.
A short stroll down to the beach to enjoy from the dunes, sit on the decking with a snuggly blanket or stay indoors and watch from the floor to ceiling windows - which would you choose? Good news for our guests is you get to decide whichever option takes your fancy!

Snow capped Harris hills, biting winds, hail storms and warm sunny spring spells…
All the weather every day at the moment. Waiting to spot some of the first lambs and embracing the longer days. The island is opening up with preparations underway for the start of the visitor season. Definitely puts a spring in your step!

And just like that we are in February already…
So many bright, breezy and beautiful days recently. Perfect for getting outside, wrapping up and enjoying some of our amazing local walks.
The walk to Rubh’ an Teampaill (headland of the temple), remains a firm favourite. A 5k circular route that offers a bit of everything with the reward of spending time at the ruins of this medieval chapel where you can watch the eagles behind you and the seals to the front.
It’s also the perfect point for a nice cuppa and time out to enjoy the peace and tranquility!
