I wanted to share a bit more about why I’m building Kytrix Travel.

Growing up, I didn’t really get to go on many big trips or days out. My parents worked hard and made sure I never went without the basics, but theme parks, school trips and big adventures were usually things I heard about from other people afterwards.

That feeling stays with you.

Since moving to the Isle of Wight, I’ve seen how hard it can be for families here to enjoy those bigger days out on the mainland. It’s not just the attraction ticket. It’s the ferry, fuel, parking, food, planning, timings, traffic, and the stress of getting everyone there and back.

For a lot of families, it can feel easier to say, “maybe next year.”

That’s the problem Kytrix Travel is being built to solve.

The idea is simple: small-group, family-friendly trips from the Isle of Wight where the travel, ferry planning, timings and logistics are handled for you.

Less stress.
More confidence.
More memories.

Kytrix Travel is still pre-launch, with the aim of starting in 2026 subject to licensing and final setup, but the mission is already clear:

Small groups. Big memories.

This isn’t just a business idea to me. It’s personal. I know what it feels like to miss out, and I’d love to help more Island families say yes to experiences they thought were out of reach.

Today we’re wishing Dan a very happy birthday.

Kytrix Travel started because Dan wanted to help more Isle of Wight families enjoy the kind of days out and memories that can feel out of reach. That heart is still at the centre of everything Kytrix is becoming.

From building the plans, shaping the trips, speaking to local partners and dreaming big for the Island, Dan puts so much care into making Kytrix Travel something people can trust.

Here’s to another year of adventure, growth, big ideas and plenty of memories ahead.

We’re looking at possible August day trips from the Isle of Wight 👀

Two ideas currently on the shortlist:

⚡ Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

The idea is simple: small-group travel, ferry-aware timings, less stress, and a proper day out without everyone having to drive, park, plan, and worry about getting home.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but we’re checking interest before we go any further.

Planned for either Saturday 25 July or Sunday 26 July 2026

The idea is simple: small-group travel from the Island, ferry-aware timings, and a calmer way to enjoy a proper day out without the driving, parking, or planning stress.

Before we lock anything in, we’d love to know which dates work best for local families.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week.

Mind’s message this year is simple but powerful: great mental health care is human.

That matters to us at Kytrix Travel because travel is human too.

It’s the reassuring message before a trip.
The friendly face at pickup.
The driver who notices someone is nervous.
The space to breathe, chat, look out the window and feel part of something.

Kytrix Travel is being built around Care, Comfort and Connection because people need more than transport. They need to feel looked after.

This week, we’re supporting Mind’s message: no mind should be left behind.

Kytrix isn’t starting with a huge fleet and flashy promises.

It’s starting the way I think good businesses should start.

Properly.

Step by step.

Phase one is about starting lean, building trust, getting moving, and creating something real. That means focusing on the right services first, proving demand, and growing carefully from there.

The long-term vision is much bigger than one vehicle or one type of journey.

I want Kytrix to become something families, groups, and communities genuinely trust.

A business that helps more people get out, do more, and make better memories together.

This is only the beginning, but it’s a beginning I care deeply about getting right.

At the heart of Kytrix are three simple ideas.

Care.
Comfort.
Connection.

Care means looking after people properly, before, during, and after the journey.

Comfort means calm vehicles, calm communication, and travel that doesn’t feel like something to endure.

Connection means small groups, friendly faces, local understanding, and the kind of shared experiences people remember.

Those three things aren’t just nice words for me.

They’re the standard.

They shape how I think about the service, the journeys, the communication, and the kind of business I want Kytrix to become.

That’s the golden thread running through all of it.

So what is Kytrix Travel actually about?

It’s an Island-first, small-group travel business built around making days out and shared journeys feel easier.

That includes day trips, transfers, and private hire, all shaped around real life here on the Isle of Wight.

The idea is simple.

Make travel feel more personal.
Make the logistics feel less overwhelming.
Make the whole experience feel better from the start.

Not faceless.
Not chaotic.
Not cattle-herding.

Just friendly, well-planned travel that feels organised, human, and worth it.

That’s the standard I want Kytrix to stand for.
