We have a few spaces available for our Oatcake Making Experience this Saturday 19th at 5pm! 🌾

Join Lucy as she takes you on a journey through the history of oats in Scotland, before you get hands-on and bake your very own delicious oatcakes. 👩‍🍳

While your oatcakes are baking, enjoy a tasty tasting platter featuring:
🧀 Scottish cheese

🍎 Local apple juice from

What a great time with had with our guests at the weekend. A farm walk to work up and appetite and then a delicous lamb curry to finish, made with our own lamb. A great way to spend a few hours.

⏰ Site opens at 6am
🍳 Breakfast is available from 7am
🐾 Qualifying runs from 7:30am to 6:30pm, across Fields 1, 2 and 3
☕ Coffee from 8am, street food from 11am
🧶 Traders, crafts, wool spinning and stick making demos, 10am to 5pm
🎙️ Q&As in Scottish Borders Showcase, check the blackboard for times
✂️ Stay on for the Speed Shear 7pm, when the site will be open late

October holidays are just round the corner and there is still some availability in Owl Cottage. Sleeping 6 and with 2 dogs allowed this cottage is great for a family or someone wishing to escape with their furry friends! There is alaso a games room with pool table, dartboard and table footbal. Great for those with a competitive streak!

Lovely to share a farm walk with guests and a lamb curry after. The feedback was great too. "What a fantastic experience. Walking around the farm learning from Matt and Lucy about their sheep, cattle and how they support wildlife too.
The Curry was delicious. A must do experience".
We are now planning our next one and look forward to sharing the date with you soon.

Come and Join Us on the Farm

There’s something special about slowing down, getting outside and enjoying a bit of good old-fashioned conversation.

So, we’re opening up the farm and inviting you to join us for a relaxed walk at Bairnkine.

Matt & Lucy, along with Moss 🐾, will take you for a wander around the farm, where you’ll meet some of our animals and hear a little about what happens here throughout the year — the highs, the challenges and everything in between.

Then we’ll head back for a bowl of homemade curry and a cuppa. 🥘☕
