The Fouta Djallon highlands in Guinea feature spectacular natural landscapes. Among the best waterfalls to explore are the towering Chutes de Ditinn, the two-tier Chutes de Kambadaga, and the scenic Chutes de Saala. These breathtaking cascades are best visited at the end of the rainy season (around November) when the water flow is at its peak and the surrounding plateaus are lush and green. Here are the three most beautiful waterfalls in the region:1. Chutes de DitinnHeight: ~80 metersLocation: Near the colonial town of DalabaHighlight: These falls boast the highest drop in all of Guinea. Ditinn plunges dramatically down a sheer rock face, making it one of the most awe-inspiring and powerful natural sights in the highlands.2. Chutes de KambadagaHeight: ~80 metersLocation: Near the town of PitaHighlight: This visually stunning, two-tier cascade features a deep pool at the bottom that is excellent for swimming. Adventurous travelers can also cross a traditional, slightly wobbly vine bridge to view the smaller upstream falls and enjoy the panoramic gorge views.3. Chutes de SaalaHeight: ~15–20 metersLocation: Near the village of Diari, about 30km west of LabéHighlight: Surrounded by deep, dramatic gorges, Saala is one of the most accessible yet breathtaking waterfalls in the Fouta Djallon. It provides a fantastic setting for hiking, and the area is well known for its rich wildlife and traditional Peulh culture.

“In this photo, we see Prince William, a longtime advocate for mental health and emergency services, visiting Norfolk Blood Bikes. Not only does he still enjoy riding, but he highlights how motorcycles can serve a higher purpose—delivering life-saving supplies. It’s a reminder that passion and purpose go hand in hand. As we prepare for the UK–West Africa Adventure Challenge, we take inspiration from leaders who ride not just for adventure but for a greater cause. Let’s ride together, serve together, and inspire unity across every mile.”

Every journey needs a purpose, and ours goes beyond adventure. As a native of Guinea, I’ve witnessed how many young riders—some as young as 10—ride motorcycles without safety training or proper protection. Our challenge will fund a charity to change that—educating riders, distributing helmets, and supporting accident victims. We’re riding for safer roads—so that every rider gets home. Join us on this mission.

Throwback to Conakry motorbike ride! It was such a beautiful experience! I definitely miss it 😜
