If you stay in hotels (for either work or pleasure) this is your chance to make a real contribution to improvements in hotel safety - in less than 3-minutes.

We are collecting data on just two key aspects of hotel safety that will make the biggest difference in reducing incidents in hotel rooms.

Below is a very quick survey that you can complete during or after a hotel stay. Please do share this with friends, family and colleagues.

You can use this as many times as you like. The more reports we have, the better the data.

This will allow us to test some theories and advocate for change.

We will also periodcially publish the results so that we can all see which hotels are serious about guest security and which ones are not.

Our CEO Carolyn was on BBC Breakfast this morning talking about the horrific and preventable sexual assult of a woman in a hotel.

The Travelodge in Maidenhead claimed to have followed it's own security protocol - which ultimately led to them giving out a room key to her attacker, even though she had booked-in as a solo guest. Their response was to offer her £30 compensation.

Rather than hotel guests having to arm themselves with various devices or assembling all kinds of contraptions, to barricade themselves in, how about hotels:

1. Spend approximately £30 and install deadbolts, t-bars or chains in every room so that guests can feel secure.
2. Develop, test and review appropriate guest and staff security protocols.
3. Adhere to these protocols at all times.
4. Ensure that all hotel staff are fully trained before they can work autonomously.
5. Have robust, appropriate and human centred responses to any kind of distressful guest incident.
