Day of the Dead 🎉💀🌺⁠

Our group have been soaking up the celebrations at Mexico’s famous Day of the Dead festival over the past few days!

They’re travelling on our special Mexico Mayan Explorer departure, timed to coincide with the festivities, and it looks like they’re having an incredible time experiencing the colourful parades, traditional music, face paint, and the many customs that make this such a special time of year in Mexico.

Day of the Dead is a fascinating celebration of life, remembering loved ones who have passed away through colourful altars, flowers, food and family gatherings. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience Mexican culture and traditions firsthand, and what a time to explore the country!

As promised, Brendan Daly’s feature on Through the Heart of the Balkans in the Sunday Independent is here! 🎉 A BIG thank you for travelling with us and bringing our Balkan adventure to life in the feature: Ancient trails and birds of prey in the heart of the Balkans.

Brendan’s writing showcases the lesser-known landscapes and the characterful places to stay along the route. Here is a little snapshot:

“We pass horses drinking in an alpine oasis and skirt limestone-speckled valleys that unfurl towards a mosaic of platinum-tinted mountains. We quench our thirst in clear mountain streams. Our morning is scored by bells clanking around cows’ necks, chirping crickets and a scattering of birdsong.”

During last year's Everest Marathon expedition, KE travellers Tammy and Phil got engaged on top of Base Camp Rock, and today they’re making it official. Congratulations to you both! 🧡 What a place to get engaged and what a memory to look back on! 💍⛰️

Live from the Nepal trails 📍📸

Brilliant photos are coming in from our group trekking through the Hidden Valleys of Naar and Phu, discovering a fascinating, remote and culturally rich side of Nepal’s Annapurna region.

They're just at the beginning of the trek and a real highlight yet to come is crossing the Kang La (5,306m), where they'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views across the Annapurna range.

With our groups out exploring Nepal this autumn, we’re loving seeing the photos coming back from the trails. Tourism plays such an important role in supporting local communities and we're wishing all our travellers an incredible adventure 😊
