When I was at World Travel Market in London last year, I was interviewed by Travelradio Australia to talk about cycling holidays in Europe. Interestingly, a group from Australia had just returned from a cycle tour in France too, so the timing worked out well!

One of the best adverts for cycling holidays was interestingly the BBC programme, Ski Sunday. A regular fixture on Sundays in the UK, it was a great showcase for European mountain regions that turn into key cycling destinations throughout the summer such as Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia.

It is a shame that the programme is now finishing after 50 years of broadcast. For example, I always wanted to visit Innsbruck because of the wonderful skiing scenes in the Tirol region.

What is your favourite bike? 🚴

I like a good sporty hybrid for touring, a road bike for distance and an electric bike whilst on a cycling holiday. My all time favourite bike is still the Brompton Bicycle. Practical, easy to ride and surprisingly quick.

It was great to be out and about on this purple machine over the weekend in sunny North Wales. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
