Today, we’re celebrating one of Britain’s most iconic animals – the badger! 🦡💚

This year, our team has been busy caring for over 58 badgers, including 17 cubs, who arrived tiny and vulnerable without the protection of their mothers. They’ve been hand-reared, bottle-fed, and given the care they need to grow strong and healthy. We know many of you have enjoyed watching them develop and show off their playful personalities, from clumsy badger bounces to splashing around in their pool.

Our goal is always to raise them to be wild and free. In just a couple of weeks, our second group will be heading off to their release site, back to the wild, where they belong.

We all know how much Simon loved his badgers, forever advocating for them. Which is, of course, why we have badger-related merchandise that you can purchase, today, in celebration of this mighty mammal. From hoodies and hats to water bottles and coffee cups, head over to our shop to pick-up a badger-related goodie, today!

Happy National Badger Day this 6th of
Just a few days until October’s full moon! This year it falls on the 7th and is sometimes called ‘Gealach a' Bhruic’ in Gaelic - the ‘Badger Moon’. Folklore says that under its bright light, badgers would gather and dry grass, getting their setts ready for winter. 🌕
