The kitchen garden doesn’t take days off 🌿
Whatever the season throws at it (and this year it’s thrown plenty), the garden just keeps going. That’s largely down to
Broad beans harvested. Lettuces in every shade of green and red. Poppies doing something extraordinary. Baby robins in the nest, completely unbothered by all of it.
There’s something the land teaches you when you work with it long enough. That growth doesn’t always look the way you expect. That resilience isn’t about conditions being perfect, it’s about showing up anyway, roots down, whatever comes. The garden knows this. Lucy knows this. And if you spend enough time here, you start to feel it too.
This is what grows the food on your plate when you stay with us. The care that goes into this place doesn’t happen by accident - it happens because of people like Lucy, quietly getting on with it whatever the season throws at them.
And if you’d like to see it up close, kitchen garden tours may be available during your stay - just ask when you arrive.
Worth every plot twist. 🌱
