This is what the kitchen garden is giving us in the first week of September.

Biodynamic growing does not impose a schedule on the land, it follows one. The garden moves through its own intelligence and what it offers in any given week is specific, unrepeatable, and entirely its own.

What the land gives, the kitchen takes. What the kitchen takes, it cooks. What it cooks goes on the table a few metres from where it came out of the ground.

That is the full story of food at West Lexham, and it is different every week because the garden is.

Come and eat with us before the season turns. Link in bio.

Autumn is when some of the most thoughtful team offsites happen 🍂
With smaller groups and cooler air, you really appreciate the kind of focus that this season brings.

There is a particular kind of thinking that only happens outside. West Lexham has been hosting teams for fifteen years. The conversations that matter most tend to happen on the walk between sessions, not in the room.

If your team needs that kind of time before the year closes, we have autumn dates available now.

“Amazing day painting with art activism at the forefront.” Julietta Arden-Taylor | Travel

When we invite artists and makers to work with us here, it’s because we believe that creativity and nature ask the same thing of us; to slow down, to pay attention, to notice what is actually in front of us rather than what we expect to find.

Emma Emma Systa brought that invitation to West Lexham on Tuesday and what unfolded over two hours was exactly the kind of afternoon we love to make space for.

Emma returns on 29 September and her sessions are open to anyone staying with us and beyond. Two hours, £20, no experience needed, only a willingness to begin 🎨✨

“West Lexham in one word is magical. It has an ethereal quality to it, I felt it the moment I went to view it for our event. I viewed it in the dead of winter and even then I knew it would be a special place to host an event”

Earlier this year, WhatWeAllAgreeOn brought their community of leaders and social entrepreneurs to West Lexham for The Optimistical - 4 days, exclusive hire and the whole site to themselves.

“The way people show up when they’re taken away from the daily stressors of life is really something. Time to breathe, to slow down, to put devices away and just be. We truly connected as a group and a large part of that is down to the venue. It felt expansive”

If you are thinking about where to take your team or community in 2026/2027, now is exactly when to start the conversation 💭

These are the August harvests from the kitchen garden at West Lexham, and you can feel the season beginning to shift in what the land is giving us right now 🍃✨

This is what biodynamic growing looks like in practice. It means working in harmony with the natural rhythms of the land, following the cycles of the soil and the seasons rather than imposing a schedule upon them, and trusting that what the earth is ready to give is exactly what is needed. The garden does not need to be pushed or persuaded. It moves through its own intelligence, and what arrives in these later weeks of August is a reflection of that; abundant, particular to this moment in the year and completely unrepeatable.

What the land nurtures, the kitchen harvests. What the kitchen harvests, it cooks. What it cooks, it places on the table a few metres from where it came out of the ground. That is the full story of food at West Lexham, and it changes every single week because the garden does.

Come and eat with us before the season turns. The summer menu is still running and the garden is still full.

“This is not a venue driven by profit alone. There is a clear sense of respect for the land and a team that genuinely cares about what they are creating. The food is biodynamically grown, seasonal, and prepared by chefs who are deeply connected to their craft. The whole space feels aligned with nature, from regenerative practices like solar energy to a grounded, respectful approach to the environment. This creates a setting that truly supports healing work.” 🫶

If you lead retreats, you already know that the venue is never just the venue.

The space your participants arrive into, the quality of the food, the soundscape outside the windows, the energy held in the land itself. All of it shapes what is possible before the programme has even started.

West Lexham has been held with intention for fifteen years. The kitchen garden feeds everyone on the land, the lake, the standing stones and the healing walks are all here. The energetics of this place are not accidental.

If you are looking for a venue that understands what you are trying to hold, we would love to talk ✨
