Summer in the East Neuk just hits differently ☀️

Longer evenings. Coastal walks. Days at the beach. Fish & chips on the harbour wall. Cosy mornings listening to birdsong.

If you’re starting to think about summer holiday plans, our cabins were made for exactly this kind of escape.

The HideAway is perfect for two — peaceful, private and designed for switching off properly. Think sunrise views from bed, woodland walks, beach swims, stargazing, and absolutely zero noise pollution. Just nature, fresh air and a chance to properly reconnect.

The Bothy is our family-friendly cabin for four — with space to spread out, outdoor games, a fire pit, double beds, a tipi, woodland adventures and plenty of room for making the kind of memories that don’t involve screens. The sort of place kids still talk about months later.

And then there’s the East Neuk itself…

World Meditation Day feels like the perfect excuse to talk about one of our favourite things about life off grid…

The silence. No traffic. No neighbour’s lawn mower at 8am. No constant buzz of notifications.

Just the sound of birds in the trees, the breeze moving through the grass, and the sunrise slowly appearing over the North Sea.

One of our guests sent us this image recently. There’s something special about stepping onto the decking at The HideAway first thing in the morning — yoga mat down, coffee nearby, fresh air filling your lungs before the world properly wakes up.

You don’t need to be an expert in meditation or yoga either. Sometimes simply sitting still for five minutes in nature is enough to reset your mind completely.

And honestly? We think the birds are better than any meditation playlist anyway.

Happy World Bee Day 🐝

The more you learn about bees, the more you realise just how much they quietly hold everything together - our food systems, wildflowers, biodiversity, entire ecosystems.

Tiny creatures doing BIG work.

Here in the East Neuk, we’re lucky to be surrounded by natural spaces where bees can thrive — from coastal wildflowers to woodland walks and local gardens bursting back into life at this time of year.

And of course, we have to give a mention to local farmshop selling all the local honey Ardross Farm 🐝🍯

There’s something quite special about seeing local businesses and nature working hand in hand — producing incredible honey while also helping protect pollinators that our environment depends on.

It’s a reminder that sustainability isn’t always about grand gestures.

Sometimes it’s protecting habitats, planting wildflowers, supporting local producers, leaving a lighter footprint where we can.

One of our favourite things to hear from guests staying in The Bothy?

How much more connected they feel by the end of the trip.

Not because of anything complicated, usually because of the simplest things.

🔸 Exploring outdoors.
🔸 Cooking dinner as a family.

Mental Health Awareness Week 🌿

We spend so much of life connected.

Phones buzzing. Emails coming through. Constant updates, scrolling, notifications, noise.

And sometimes, the best thing for our minds is simply stepping away from it for a while.

That’s one of the reasons our cabins are intentionally off grid.

To create space for real connection again:
• Morning coffee outside instead of on a screen, soaking up the morning sun
• Conversations uninterrupted by notifications
• Walks along the coast
• Watching wildlife from your window
• Reading, resting, sea swimming, stargazing
