🍂 Your September Guide to the East Neuk
September might just be one of our favourite times to explore the East Neuk. The summer crowds begin to quieten, the coast feels a little more peaceful, and there’s still plenty happening locally.
Save this for your September escape 👇
🌿 Explore
Wander through the beautiful walled garden and woodlands at Cambo, just along the coast from us. On 5th & 6th September, Cambo is also hosting FREE guided Heritage Tours as part of Doors Open Days – exploring 300 years of the estate’s history.
🪨 Catch the final weekend of Summer of Stone
Cambo’s If These Walls Could Talk festival runs until 6th September, celebrating the stories, skills and heritage hidden within stone across the estate.
⚓ Slow down in the fishing villages
Spend an afternoon wandering through Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and St Monans. Harbour walks, independent shops, coffee stops and something good to eat by the sea – no complicated itinerary required.
🥾 Walk a stretch of the Fife Coastal Path
September is perfect walking weather. Pick a section of the coastal path and take in the beaches, harbours and changing landscape at a slower pace.
☕ Make time for the little things
A long breakfast. A quiet morning outside. Fresh local food. A walk with nowhere particular to be.
And at the end of the day? Head back to your cabin, get cosy and enjoy having absolutely nothing else on the agenda. 🌾
September stays at The Bothy & The HideAway are the perfect excuse for one last slower escape before autumn properly arrives.
