We often sit and debate whether we should be on sites such Airbnb and booking.com - their commission is high and their filters often quite obscure, so it's hard to know if an eco based glamping cabin like ours will even get found.

But then we see the headline that we have received only 5* across all our bookings and give ourselves a moment to just feel proud.

Tomorrow we can once again worry about where we list, how we advertise, what's right, what's wrong. Today we we are just grateful for a little recognition of a job well done.

And let's be clear - without the unwavering behind the scenes support of and their team we couldn't maintain our pernickety standards - thanks Cambo! 💚

Sometimes, switching off really does mean switching off. 🌿

This World Mental Health Day, we’re thinking about the simple things that can give our minds a little more space.

Time outdoors. Fresh air. Natural light. Moving your body. Being surrounded by trees and birdsong. Spending uninterrupted time with the people you love.

And perhaps one of the hardest these days — putting your phone away!

Our Off Grid cabin has a phone lockbox, giving you the option to physically put your devices away for a while. No notifications. No endless scrolling. No feeling like you need to be available every minute of the day.

Instead, take a woodland walk. Wander the Fife Coastal Path. Sit outside with your morning coffee. Read a book. Cook together. Talk until you lose track of the time.

Being outdoors and taking a break from our screens isn't a cure-all for our mental health, but creating moments of calm, connection and breathing space can matter.

You don’t always need to do more.

Sometimes, you need a little less. 💚

World Animal Day 🐦‍⬛

One of the loveliest things about staying off grid? You’re never really alone.

Tucked away within our private woodland, The Bothy and The HideAway share their surroundings with plenty of local residents — from squirrels darting between the trees to birds filling the woodland with song. 🐿️

Slow down, sit outside with your morning coffee and you never quite know what you might spot.

Our little corner of the East Neuk is a place to switch off, reconnect with nature and appreciate the wildlife that calls it home — which feels particularly fitting this World Animal Day.

Sometimes the best entertainment is simply sitting quietly and seeing who turns up. 🌲🐦

🥾 Walking the Fife Coastal Path, with a little off-grid restoration along the way…

We recently welcomed guests all the way from the USA, who booked both The Bothy and The HideAway as part of their adventure walking the beautiful Fife Coastal Path — with a birthday to celebrate along the way too. 🎈

And we think they embraced the off-grid experience perfectly:

“We put our phones in ‘jail’ and had a deeply restorative time.”

Two glorious days of switching off, slowing down and enjoying a little birthday celebration surrounded by the East Neuk countryside.

They also left us the loveliest message:
