AMAZING HULL TOURS was created in 2013 to show the other side of Hull's history. It is run by Mike Covell, a well known local historian and Ripperologist, who has lived in Hull all his life was working full time at Machine Mart in Hull when he was struck down with a heart condition and signed off work in 2007, a week after his daughter was born. To pass the time he began reading and researching on

a daily basis and between hospital appointments he would sit and peruse books, magazines, and historical documents. He underwent two heart operations called "Radio Frequency Ablation" at Castle Hill Hospital, and after a fitness assessment was signed back to work in 2014. He enlisted in a scheme working with Sirius in Hedon, and the Department of Work and Pensions to create Amazing Hull Tours, with the business plans signed off in the summer of 2014, with a soft launch over Autumn 2014 and the company officially launching in 2015. Initially the company ran small walking tours and lectures, and began self publishing that year, but things soon sped up. Mike was offered a publishing contract, and also became a freelance writer with Reach PLC, providing written content for The Hull Daily Mail initially, with his first article being published on August 29th 2015. TV work also came in, and Mike had the opportunity to film with Most Haunted, Most Haunted Live, Paranormal Lockdown, Ouija Dicing With Death, WWII Treasure Hunters, The Bombs That Changed Britain, Infinite Monkey Cage, Killer Neighbours, Prime Suspect Jack the Ripper, plus appearances on BBC, ITV, and various other networks and shows. His work and research has been featured in numerous books and magazines, he has featured in local, national and international media, and lectured across Britain on both Jack the Ripper and Hull's history. AMAZING HULL TOURS will also offer group bookings, family friendly tours, wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly tours, and virtual tours covering all aspects of Hull's history.

😢 Due to a lack of interest this week's Hedon Road Cemetery tours will be the last. They will still be available for private booking.
The tour is our most beloved tour on account of the history, architecture, wildlife, and beautiful scenes on display in the Cemetery. The layers of history and stories behind the stones are fascinating, yet heartbreaking. 💔
We are still running the tours on Saturday and Sunday this week.

Don't forget to book your places on this week's White Lady tour if you dare 👻
