Today was Day 2 of Humber Business Week 2026, starting with a fantastic tour of Ideal Heating.

I’m definitely a bit of a geek when it comes to behind-the-scenes factory visits, and it didn’t disappoint. From the guided tours to the interactive activities, it was great to see the scale of operations and hear about the company’s long-term investment plans for the future.

The afternoon then moved on to the Chamber Expo 2026 at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel. This year’s headline sponsor was Energy Voice, with a strong focus on Energy, Power and Connectivity as the theme for 2026.

There was a great mix of businesses exhibiting, plenty of networking opportunities, and it was nice catching up with some familiar faces throughout the day. Also have to mention the Chamber Motor Show — definitely some very nice cars on display! 🚗

Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take any photos this time… clearly I need to get better at documenting these events! 😅

Another great day showcasing the ambition, innovation and collaboration across Hull and the Humber region.

Great to be attending the first day of Humber Business Week and also my first ever Humber Business Week Lunch 2026 at the MKM Stadium today.

It’s been brilliant meeting new people and businesses from across the region, all coming together to network, support one another, and celebrate the growth, ambition and opportunities across Hull and the Humber.

It was also great hearing from this year’s guest speaker, Kieran Breen. As a University of Hull Economics graduate and former President of International Marketing at Century Fox, it was inspiring to hear about his career journey and involvement in major films including Avatar, Deadpool, The Greatest Showman and Bohemian Rhapsody.

There’s a real sense of positivity and collaboration around the region, and it’s great to see so many businesses investing in the future of Hull and the Humber. Looking forward to the rest of the week and continuing the conversations started today.

Great to attend the YORhub Meet the Buyer event at the MKM Stadium today.

It was a really valuable morning meeting some interesting people, learning more about the ongoing and upcoming projects across the Humber region, and discussing where Spotlight Estates can support businesses with high-quality serviced accommodation solutions.

It was also great to meet the team from The Supply Chain Network again after recently joining a few months ago. They are doing some fantastic work helping connect businesses and create opportunities across the region.

Events like these are a great reminder of the value of building strong local relationships and collaborating across industries. Looking forward to following up with the people I met today.
