🦭 Haul-Out Season: Meet the Giants of the Arctic Shore 🦭

📅 From early July onwards, the remote shores of Svalbard come alive with the grunts, snores, and sheer presence of the Atlantic walrus.

These enormous, tusked pinnipeds haul themselves out in large numbers, gathering in impressive, tightly packed colonies known as haul-outs.

Seeing them up close—sunbathing, socialising, or awkwardly shuffling over one another—is a raw and unforgettable Arctic experience. Whether lounging on beaches or ice floes, walruses are a true symbol of the high north, and early summer is prime time to witness them at their best.
