Spent a hectic 😉 day documenting a mountain bike themed route in southern 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The seven trail centres—Glentress, Innerleithen, Newcastleton, Ae, Mabie, Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree and Glentrool—are renowned for their world-class routes, stunning scenery and unique stone sculptures ("stanes") inspired by local myths and legends. 🚴‍♀️⛰️

I picked off Mabie (definitely) and Dalbeattie. Newcastleton tomorrow and a well deserved snooze 😴 in the van tonight incoming….

Raise a glass to the spirit of Scotland 🥃✨

Spent yesterday exploring the rich flavors of whisky in Edinburgh - from smooth and mellow to smoky and my favourite, peaty.

Every dram tells a story, and there's no better place to discover them than in Scotland’s historic capital.

Slàinte! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Mud flying. Tyres locking. Adrenaline. 🚵‍♂️💨

Why on earth have I come out of retirement to race downhill mountain biking again?!

At the Forest of Ae in Dumfries and Galloway for round 2 of the SDA series.

Practice today and race tomorrow.

In between of course, in a van. Perfect base after a tough, physical day 🚐.

Nothing beats the sound of freewheels echoing through the woods! ⛰️🔥

What I’m up to this weekend……! The 30 year retirement from the sport ended!

Fastpacking: where trail running meets backpacking and every mile feels like freedom! 🏔️🎒

Started experimenting with this in the Lakes a few weeks back and trying to hit around 4.5mph (I’m old!) across hill terrain.

Less weight. More ground covered. Sunrise starts, slow/hard climbs and getting the footwork right ion descents to the waiting van and cuppa.

It’s not about going fast all the time — it’s about moving efficiently enough to see more, feel more, and carry only what matters.

Tired legs. Clear mind.

I have availability for June and some in July. I also have advice on routes and places to stay - for free!

Adventures 🌊🏔️🥃

The Isle of Arran feels like all of Scotland wrapped into one unforgettable island,
With a rolling south and a rugged north. Whether you’re on the Goat Fell ridge,
spotting seals along the coast, or wandering through lovely villages, Arran has a way of slowing life down in the best possible way.

Of course, you could always throw yourself off a pier like Charlie! 💪

Already dreaming about the next visit. 💙

So, reflecting on Chamonix two weeks ago and not sure where to start. Less faffing getting there than I thought, which was a good thing as pretty big days and therefore tiring. Think this is about my 8th time there and every time I am blown away with the scenery, atmosphere and food/drink! Flight into Geneva and then a fairly straightforward drive along the valley to Bossons, next to Chamonix. Apart from encountering some mad supermarket sweep woman in the store on the way there, all good!

I’ll be doing again and just doing largish Munro-sized days at height, among glaciers pretty breathtaking……

Availability on vans starting to get tight in June but I still have slots. Get in touch to discuss.

Dog friendly campervan available to hire June and August. 🐕

What could be more energetic and loud than one Vizsla looking for sticks in the forest? A Viz-whiz. 💨 12 assembled the other day and boy, was it loud!

They are a fascinating breed who definitely recognise their own breed immediately. ❤️ Finn has a couple of local Vizsla chums but this was up a level!

To discuss a dog friendly route and hire, just DM me.
