Had the pleasure of hosting this group of guys last week for a day walked up grouse.
They were absolute gents on the hill and we had a fantastic day, they were a mix of Indian and Pakistani and I don't think I've had a group so respectful towards their quary before.
They put on lunch on the hill which was amazing, proper Indian food, however walking after lunch was not the easiest.
Look forward to having them back hopefully for some stalking later in the year.

Another cracking old hill buck tonight, not much left in the teeth department but does have a set of tusks (canines). 2nd buck from this part of the hill this year with tusks.
Ticks were horrendous on him, and the flying ants were terrible tonight.

A very busy few weeks but a wee catch up of a selection of some of the stags taken over the final couple of weeks of the season. Straight into a few busy weeks at hinds and walked up game days. Thanks to all my clients new and old, your custom is very much appreciated and look forward to seeing most again next season, won't be long in coming round again. 😊

An interesting find today when cleaning my clients antlers.
This stag was stood perfectly broadside with head facing straight ahead when the shot was taken at 220 yards into the chest.
The bullet has taken a 90 degree turn upon entry into the chest cavity and had managed to travel through the neck and into the head, enough force to punch a hole through the skull but not enough energy left to exit the skull. The bullet was found inside the brain cavity whilst removing the brain pre boiling.

Been a busy couple of weeks on the hill, rut is on and off and a few days of really good activity. Had some new clients out and some returning clients all have gone away happy with some very special stags taken.
Also, I would like to congratulate a pair of returning clients who got engaged whilst on their stalking trip with me. Really made up for you both, you are a great couple and I wish you many happy years together.
