Welcome to our page. We have experienced some delays in our opening plans but have now finally opened. Please go to www.ceolmor.co.uk to make your booking. Our links with local partners to bring you amazing experiences - including cycle hire, shooting, canoe trips, distillery tours, archery, historical or scenic tours and much more. Our lodges cater for 4 people with a double bed and 2 luxury fold down futons. For families with children we will also be offering cooking experiences from Yvonne (DBS certified) whilst mum and dad do their own day trip. We can do afternoon tea for our guests and arrange packed lunches for your trips.

Friday Photo Time. Wick...

It's very easy to drive straight through Wick on your Northern Highlands adventures.

However, look a bit deeper. This is both a historic town and royal burgh. It is famous for its Norse heritage, dramatic cliffside castles, and for once being Europe's busiest herring fishing port.

Top things to do and see near Wick are:

Wick Heritage Museum: This community-run museum offers a dense look into the town’s maritime past, featuring the famous Johnston collection of historical photographs and fully restored fishing gear.

Old Pulteney Distillery: Founded in 1826, this is one of the most northerly distilleries on the Scottish mainland. It is famous for producing a distinctively coastal, salt-tinged single malt Scotch wh**ky.

Castle Sinclair Girnigoe: Perched dramatically on cliff edges about three miles north of the town, these spectacular ruins consist of two medieval castles spanning the 15th to 17th centuries.

Ebenezer Place: Officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's shortest street, measuring exactly 2.06 metres (6 feet 9 inches) long and containing only one address: Mackays Hotel.

Caithness Seacoast Boat Trips: High-speed RIB boat tours depart from Wick Marina to explore the local sea caves, dramatic geos (narrow inlets), and coastal wildlife like seals and orcas - and puffins (in the right season).

Friday Photo Time. If you're in Inverness with a bit of time to spare and don't fancy a walking tour, why not do the open top bus. It takes just over an hour from the bus station in the city centre and is a hop on hop off service. it goes out to Dochgarroch Lock where you can get cruises on Loch Ness and there is a lovely cafe right by the bus stop. There's commentary for the key places and it is great fun for small children too - we have taken some of our grandchildren on it and they loved it!

Friday Photo Time. Highland Cows - meet Rab and Taransay at Lochbroom Highanders.

This was a fabulous experience for one of our granddaughters who was spending time with us. These cows are wonderful - just get in touch with Loch Broom Highlanders to sort out a visit. They're in the Ullapool area so it was easy for us to do after a boat trip in the morning.

Friday Photo Time. Tarbat Discovery Centre is an acclaimed local heritage museum, learning, and activity centre located in the coastal village of Portmahomack on the Tarbat Peninsula near Tain.

Housed within the refurbished, Grade A-listed Tarbat Old Parish Church (Church of St. Colman), it stands as a site of national archaeological importance. It preserves the remains of the only Pictish monastic settlement excavated in Scotland to date.

This is definitely one of the most interesting museums in the area - particularly as it covers a large time span of history that really covers how the area changed in terms of ancient tribes (especially the Picts) and then heading to Roman, Viking, Medieval and battles of the Clans leading up to the end of the Jacobite uprising.

There's some lovely eateries in the village, the nearby lighthouse is awesome and the Mermaid of the North is not far away - so you could easily take a day exploring this area.

Friday Photo Time. Nairn beaches.

About half an hour east of Inverness is Nairn, a lovely little town right on the coast of the Moray Firth. There are some gorgeous beaches here - including a 'Secret' one! With loads of independent cafes and great play areas for children, Nairn has a lovely buzz about it.

It's definitely worth a visit and being only about 20 minutes from Inverness Airport, is an easy place to visit before an evening flight home after having spent a few days with us.

Friday Photo Time. Looking for a posh afternoon tea?

Yvonne loves a posh afternoon tea and she has found a new excellent venue which is ideal to celebrate a special occasion. This is Glenmorangie House out on the Tain peninsula - just a short drive from us. This is a stunning location right on the coast.

he house acts as a gateway to the nearby Glenmorangie Distillery (located 7 miles away), offering private warehouse tastings, mixology masterclasses in a garden teepee, and "Signet" masterclasses as well as the afternoon teas.

The decor clearly pays homage to the Glenmorangie brand - in a tasteful and respectful way for the building.
