In a change from our usual Lamlash Bay Thursday evenings we enjoyed a lovely club paddle around Pladda last night.

We hope to do more paddles at different parts of the island during the summer.

Keep checking back here for updates or check the club emails when they drop to make sure you don’t miss out.

Thursday 9th July

Pladda Paddle

The weather today (Thursday 9th July) looks too good to miss out on an opportunity for a club paddle around Pladda.

The plan is to take some boats on the club trailer down to the parking area opposite the Kildonan Community cafe.

For those with their own boats and transport please make your way there for 6pm.
If you need to use club equipment please go to the Lamlash Yacht club from 5pm and help load the trailer ready for its departure at around 5:30.

It would help if folk could share cars on the evening to help with minimising any parking issues.

We'll look to get on the water for 6:30pm as usual.

Total distance to paddle is approx 5km so we would be back on shore by approximately 8:30.

Always a great event

Always a great event

Just over a week to go until the Otter's Tail Holy Isle Challenge on Saturday 11 July 2026.

This exciting 11 km circumnavigation of Holy Isle starts and finishes at Lamlash Pier on the Isle of Arran and is organised by Otter's Tail and Arran Kayak Club on behalf of Paddle Scotland.

Boat hire is available for the event, so there's no need to bring your own kayak on the ferry roof racks. Simply travel to Arran as a foot passenger and we'll have a boat ready for you.

The ethos of the day is to provide a fun, friendly and welcoming challenge for paddlers of all abilities in a wide range of suitable craft. While there is a race element, the main focus is on everyone safely completing the course and enjoying a fantastic day on the water.

Watch our 2024 event video to see what it's all about:

What a perfect evening we had on Thursday. A wee trip to St Molaise's cave on Holy Isle. A quick scramble to the cave for some, a dip for another, but lovely chat for all 😊

Fingers crossed for good weather this week!

Please do come along and perhaps join your committee. A number of committee members are standing down this year. This means there are lots of opportunities for club members to get more involved and bring in some new ideas and energy.

There's lots of exciting things to do to ensure your Club thrives
eg training, organising day/weekend trips, pool session arranger, fund raising and anything else you'd feel interested in developing.

We hope to see as many of you as possible in person on the 18th at the Yacht Club. However, if you cant make but still wish to get more involved please contact us directly and we can discuss opportunities within the club.
