A local wanting to know more.

A few days before the official opening of the season. I was approached by one of Newcastletons locals.

Sean wanted to know more of the region, the wind blowing a hoolie and raining hard I saddled up and collected Sean and his girlfriend.

You must remember Reivers ride rain or shine, and we hit the trail.

Sean wanted to know more about the Reivers, I delivered like I always do.

I didn't just deliver the history of the Armstrongs i delivered a history of the region.

Our connections to the Bruce Dynasty, the Stuart Dynasty and the Tudor Dynasty.

Laws and customs, heritage, indid what i do best step into my world.

Bloodshed, murder, feuds, raids and breakouts.

Jacobite, witches and legends then my favourite piece of them all The Cursing Stone. I wear that curse like a medallion.

It was an inspiring day to which sean learned a horrible truth. he found a name associated with his family onnthe Reiver walk of fame.

Sean: I'm cursed.
Me: welcome to the family sean (with a massive grin.)

Dead men tell no lies.
The Reivers were harsh, the truth of the matter was not pretty. most borderfolk lived very short lives.

It was mostly nurture that made the borders, our rob, and raid nature was away to recoup loses inflicted on our peoples from either government's and crowns.

Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce you to John Sadler's Time Bandits. An expert in the field.
