It’s probably one of the questions I’ve been asked most since coming home!

I’ve created three different Bhutan itineraries, with varying levels of accommodation and pricing, starting from £3,640 per person.

🇧🇹 I didn’t expect Bhutan to affect me quite like it did… ❤️

I went for the mountains, monasteries, beautiful hotels and bucket-list moments.

But I came home with so much more.

At 45, life feels like it’s changing. My son is growing up, I worry about Mum and Dad, life is always busy… and sometimes I find myself wondering, what’s next?

Bhutan made me stop.

✨ To breathe.
✨ To reflect.
✨ To appreciate what I have.
✨ And to feel a little more like myself again.

It really was the reset I didn’t know I needed. 🙏🇧🇹

🇧🇹 Bhutan – Day Five 🌿

Today we left Gangtey and headed down to warmer Punakha with lush green valleys, rice terraces and winding rivers making it feel like a completely different side of Bhutan. ☀️

First stop, &Beyond Punakha River Lodge for lunch and a look around. Just 8 suites and villas with an incredible 163 staff…talk about personalised service! 😍 Lunch was fabulous too, prepared by a chef who previously worked at Richard Branson’s Necker Island.

Then onwards to Pemako Punakha for two nights. You arrive on foot across a suspension bridge, with your personal butler waiting on the other side. ❤️

And our Tent Pool Villa… WOW! Private pool, surrounded by forest and total luxury. Genuinely up there with one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. 🇧🇹✨

🇧🇹 Bhutan – Days 3 & 4 ❤️

Firstly, thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the devastating flooding in Nepal. We are all safe and well here, thankfully. 🙏❤️

What an incredible couple of days!

🏔️ A spectacular 7½-hour mountain journey from Thimphu to Gangtey, travelling through the misty Dochula Pass, seeing the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and taking part in a traditional prayer flag hoisting ceremony. 🙏

We visited Gangtey Monastery, home to around 120 monks, before hiking through the beautiful Phobjikha Valley to a tiny remote monastery where just four monks live. Being welcomed inside, receiving a blessing and watching their prayer ceremony was incredibly special. ❤️

Then lunch at Six Senses Gangtey — WOW! 😍 What a setting and those views!

We finished at the Black-Necked Crane Centre before heading back to Taj Gangtey.

Bhutan really is something else. 🇧🇹 The scenery is breathtaking, but it’s the people, traditions and those little once-in-a-lifetime moments that are making this trip so unforgettable. ❤️

🇧🇹 Our first 2 nights in Bhutan… and what an introduction! ✨
We’re staying at the beautiful Six Senses Thimphu, the “Palace in the Sky”, perched at 2,650m with just 25 suites and villas and the most incredible views across the valley. 🏔️

🪷 First stop was the enormous Buddha Dordenma, which we can actually see from our room! It’s currently under renovation so we could only explore the outside, but at over 50 metres high it’s still an incredible sight.

🙏 At the National Memorial Chorten, it was fascinating watching locals walk clockwise around the stupa, completing either 3 or 108 circuits while praying and spinning the prayer wheels.

📮 At the Bhutan Postal Museum we even created our own personalised Bhutanese stamps, before exploring the colourful Ka Ja Throm market.

Lunch was at Le Méridien Thimphu, where we unexpectedly caught a glimpse of the King of Bhutan… who, I kid you not, is the image of Elvis! 😂👑

Back at Six Senses we’ve tried butter tea and archery, made mini stupas and butter candles, and learnt more about Bhutan’s fascinating philosophy of Gross National Happiness.

Just one night in and Bhutan already feels unlike anywhere else I’ve travelled. 💛🇧🇹

Next stop… BHUTAN!
On Monday I’m heading off on a very special adventure to one of the world’s ultimate bucket-list destinations - Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. 🐉🏔️

🌴 Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives – Contemporary Luxury with Endless Shades of Blue 💙

Our final stop on our Cinnamon Maldives adventure was Cinnamon Velifushi and it immediately felt different.

Modern, stylish and contemporary, with sleek overwater villas stretching across the most incredible turquoise lagoon. I stayed in a Sunset Overwater Villa and waking up surrounded by endless shades of blue was every bit as magical as you’d imagine. 😍🌊

Once again, the Cinnamon team were exceptional…warm, genuine and always smiling and the food continued to impress, including a fabulous (and VERY spicy! 🌶️😂) traditional Sri Lankan dinner.

Velifushi isn’t flawless and there are a few areas I’d love to see refreshed, but I really admire Cinnamon’s willingness to listen, evolve and continually improve.

After experiencing four very different islands, I’d sum them up like this:

🐠 Ellaidhoo – incredible house reef
🤍 Hakuraa Huraa – pure tranquillity
🌊 Dhonveli – the perfect all-rounder
💙 Velifushi – contemporary island living

Would I recommend Velifushi? Absolutely. Beautiful villas, a spectacular lagoon and, most importantly, a team who genuinely care. 💙

🌴 Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon – Where the Ocean Steals the Show 🐠🦈

If Cinnamon Dhonveli was my introduction to the Maldives… Ellaidhoo was where I truly fell in love with it. 💙

The reason? That incredible house reef.

I’d heard so much about Ellaidhoo’s snorkelling before arriving, but it completely exceeded my expectations. In just two nights, I snorkelled SIX times 😂 — colourful tropical fish, beautiful coral and reef sharks… I genuinely couldn’t stay out of the water!

One of my absolute highlights was night snorkelling 🌙. Watching the reef completely transform after dark was magical and easily one of my favourite experiences of the whole trip.

🏝️ I stayed in an Overwater Villa and loved sitting on my deck at sunset watching reef sharks glide underneath. But here’s the surprising part…

For keen snorkellers, I’d actually recommend the Beach Villas.

You can step from your terrace, cross the beach and be moments away from one of the best house reefs in the Maldives. Sometimes the best room isn’t the most expensive — it’s the one that gives you the best experience.

Ellaidhoo isn’t about polished, ultra-luxury glamour. It’s relaxed, authentic and wonderfully unpretentious — barefoot Maldives at its best. 👣🌊

Add genuinely lovely staff, a fantastic dive team and a very special General Manager’s dinner of lobster, lamb chops and sunset views 🦞🥂🌅 and this little island completely captured my heart.

When it was time to leave, I even tried hiding behind a tree in the hope everyone might forget me…

Sadly, they found me. 😂🌴

⭐ My verdict: If you asked me where I’d recommend for some of the best snorkelling in the Maldives, Ellaidhoo would be right up there.

Sometimes the Maldives isn’t about infinity pools and extravagant villas.

Sometimes nature steals the show. 💙
