Hello our faithful KPT followers. We are on day 2 of our Scottish adventure, and our start from Oban gave us a typically Scottish welcome - grey skies and rain, or as we call it here in Scotland, dreich weather.

However, our Florida friends were undeterred. We started the morning with some shopping in town before making an on-the-spot decision to visit Oban Distillery. Last minute availability secured, and it did not disappoint - another memorable experience ticked off the list.

Heading north, we stopped at the magnificent Castle Stalker for photos and a wee piping concert from Graeme - the pipes echoing across the loch in the misty Highland air.

Next stop, the atmospheric, Glencoe, where the Three Sisters looked every bit as dramatic in the moody weather. From there, we popped into the Highland Soap Company for some shopping and a tasty lunch - the perfect pit stop before driving further north.

As the day drew to a close, we arrived at the delightfully picturesque village of Plockton, where our guests from Florida will be based for the next two evenings.

Set your watches for the same time tomorrow for our day 3 antics πŸ˜‰

Good morning KPT followers and it's a new week and new tour. Well folks... here was yesterday's adventure 😊

We set off from Edinburgh on Sunday with a fun-loving group from Florida, and what an unexpected day it turned out to be!

First stop, Stirling Castle, always a KPT favourite. From there, we headed to Thornhill for a legendary homemade lunch at the Lion and Unicorn.

En route to Stirling, our guests asked if there were any football (soccer) matches they could attend. As luck would have it, the Scottish Junior Cup Final was taking place just 30 minutes away at Broadwood Stadium - Largs Thistle vs Auchinleck Talbot.

Now, Largs Thistle just happens to be Graeme's home town team, so this was indeed fortuitous as Graeme is a bit of a football ( fitba') fan.

What followed was a cracking afternoon of great football, and our Florida visitors threw themselves into it completely, cheering on the Largs lads with everything they had. It was a closely fought battle, with Auchinleck Talbot edging it 2-1, in the final moments, but the atmosphere was brilliant and the memories will last a lifetime.

We arrived in Oban slightly later than planned - but that's the beauty of a private tour. Itineraries can change on the day to incorporate real Scottish experiences that no guidebook could ever plan for. ⚽️

Stay tuned for today's excursion and see what treasures we unearth on our adventures on the way πŸ˜‰.

All good things must come to and as they say, and sadly this was the last day with our friends from New York and Boston.

We began our day's adventure this morning with a wee bit of shopping in Portree before leaving behind the misty Isle of Skye.

We journeyed on through the Scottish Highlands to Fort William with a short pause to admire the snow capped mountains in the Nevis Range at the Commando Memorial. Whilst in the area we enjoyed our last supper together with a scrumptious lunch at the Highland Soap Company.

Continuing on, we visited the MacDonald memorial in Glencoe where we paid our respects to the famous fallen clan.

We still had time to capture photos of the Three Sisters in Glencoe and Stalker Castle before completing our private tour of Scotland in Oban.

This was a fun five days with many a laugh and we wish our guests a great trip to Mull, Staffa and Iona tomorrow, and a safe journey back to The Big Apple and Boston.

Haste Ye Back.

Fabulous fun day four and the penultimate day with our intrepid travellers from New York and Boston. This morning, Skye lived up to its reputation as the "Misty Isle," so we headed to Sligachan for photos with the Collie and Mackenzie statues looking towards the Cuillin mountains.

Our next stop was at Glenbrittle where Graeme played the bagpipes beside the Fairy Pools. Our timing was perfect as the heavens opened up again so we all took shelter at the Talisker Whisky Distillery in Carbost, where our guests enjoyed a guided tour and tastings.

We then went on to visit Dunvegan Castle, where our guests enjoyed a self guided tour before continuing on to Uig Pottery. Unfortunately, the weather didn't improve this afternoon, but we still managed photo stops at the Museum of Island Life and Kilt Rock before completing our Skye tour in Portree.

We packed so much into one day! I hope you enjoy the photos, folks.

Stay tuned for more adventures on our final day tomorrow. Cheerio the noo 😊

Day 3 of our Scottish adventure and the sun shone on the just, our Clans Henderson and Mackenzie as we set sail on Loch Ness in search of Nessie.

Our guests enjoyed a fabulous two hour cruise from DochGarroch Lock on the Jacobite Loch Ness Cruise. On route our vessel dropped some of its passengers off at the iconic Urquhart Castle before returning to DochGarroch.

Our adventure continued through the Scottish Highlands to Eilean Donan Castle which is at the meeting point of three lochs. Can anyone on here name them? πŸ€”

This was a special visit for our Clan Mackenzie members as this became a Mackenzie stronghold in the late thirteenth century.

Following our fascinating visit we then travelled over the Skye Bridge as we all sang the famous song 'Over the Sea to Skye"

We eventually arrived in Portree where we will be based for the next two evenings.

Check in again tomorrow to follow our superb, Skye Adventure. See ye all later 😊

Ah you fabulous faithful followers will know we are now on day two of our five-day Scottish adventure.

We were blessed with more glorious sunshine as we made our way to Clava Cairns, where we wandered through the fascinating burial cairns and standing stones.

Our next stop was at the often described, atmospheric Culloden Visitor Centre and Battlefield, where our guests paid their respects to the fallen Clans.

We then made our way to Cawdor Castle, where our lovely group from the States had a wonderful visit and loved the exquisite gardens.

So, as we rest tonight in Inverness, the Highland Capital, we look forward to further exploration of our scenic country tomorrow. Stay tuned ...πŸ˜‰ 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hello followers of KPT, have you missed us over the weekend πŸ˜‰?

Our Graeme from Kilted Piper Tours was back out on the road again on a 5 Day Private Scottish Highland Tour from Edinburgh.

Our guests are descendants from Clan Henderson and Clan Mackenzie

This terrific five day tour from Edinburgh visited the Kelpies at the Helix Park and the Historic Stirling Castle on our first day on Tuesday morning.

We then continued on to the Lion and Unicorn Inn for some tasty homemade food before continuing on through Big Tree Country in Perthshire, to the magnificent Blair Castle and our guests from the big apple, were not disappointed.

Stay with us for highlights of our great adventurous journey.

Cheery bye the noo 😊🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Well followers of KPT, we have just completed a fabulous 7-day Scottish adventure with a lovely family from Ontario, Canada.

We set off from Inverness this morning and travelled to Dores at Loch Ness for a wee bit of Nessie spotting before travelling on to the picturesque Fort Augustus.

Our journey, continued south through Scotland's great Glen, stopping off briefly at Commando Monument where we admired the snow capped mountains on the Nevis Range, and paid our respects to our fallen soldiers.

It was indeed a stupendous scenic Scotland tour which also saw us stopping for photos at the Buchaille Etive mountain in Glencoe before completing our tour in Edinburgh.

We wish our friends from Ontario a safe onward journey back home tomorrow, and Haste Ye Back 😊

Now Graeme is back home briefly at The Piper's Rest to prepare for further adventures next week. Mind and pop by for a wee follow when we go off again exploring our beautiful Bonnie Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
