Effingham Golf Club Effingham is one of the finest downland courses in England, designed originally by the renowned Harry C**t.

Set on 264 acres of rolling chalk downs and at up to 500 feet above sea level, the two 9 hole loops have panoramic views from Windsor across the City of London to Canary Wharf, with many famous landmarks visible on a clear day. Effingham was an Open Regional Qualifying course from 2006 to 2010 and hosts a regional qualifier for the 2014 English Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship aka the Brabazon Trophy. A real members golf club situated in the heart of open, peaceful Surrey countryside, Effingham is only 22.5 miles from Charing Cross, 10 minutes from the M25 (junction 9 or 10) and close to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Junior Open 2026⛳️

A huge congratulations to Connor Taggart from on winning the Fairclough Cup with an outstanding gross score of 71, and to Tommy Wise from for winning the Oswick Cup with an excellent net score of 66. Fantastic achievements from both players! 👏🏼🏌️

It was great to see so many young golfers out on the course, enjoying the day and playing some superb golf.

January 2026 Recap!

A busy and brilliant time at the club ⛳️

We kicked things off with Captain’s Drive-In, saying goodbye to our 2025 Captains and welcoming our new Captains, with a fantastic turnout for this traditional day🏌️‍♀️

Despite the range of weather we’ve had, the recent snow left the course looking stunning ❄️ and thanks to the recent drainage works, our greens have held up superbly and recovered quickly.

Our 1927 Lager🍺 is flowing as we build towards our Centenary year, there’s great new stock in the Pro Shop 🛍️, and the Clubhouse has been buzzing – from hosting a lively Burns Night 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿for our local Rotary Club to completing new flooring in the Clubhouse ✨
