“Some places you visit. Others become a part of you and Chiang Mai is one of them. 🐘

My time in Chiang Mai may have been a short one, but the memories are forever. In just a few weeks, this place and the experience truly moved me.

From exploring vibrant markets to deep conversations, laughter and quiet moments of reflection - every second felt meaningful. It’s crazy to think 10 months have passed and not a day goes by that I don’t think about Chiang Mai gave and the suitcase of memories I came back with. It truly is the Land of Smiles.

This experience not only taught me transferable skills but also grounded me. I learned to be present, slow down, embrace change and appreciate the little things in life.”

“I began my Think Pacific journey in March 2019 as an Operations Manager with a clear purpose - to serve, lead, and create impact. Since then, my path has grown into leadership as Finance Manager, Trustee, and now Fiji Lead Operations Manager and Trustee. This journey has shaped me into a stronger leader, grounded in purpose and driven to empower others, build meaningful partnerships, and deliver lasting change across our communities in Fiji.”

🌺 Favourite Memory: The most powerful moments are not behind a desk - they are in the villages, on the ground, where impact is real. Witnessing our volunteers experience Fiji for the first time, fully immersing in our culture and traditions, is something I never take for granted. These are the moments that fuel my passion and purpose. I stand proud to represent my people, my culture, and the true spirit of Fiji in everything I do.

“Immersing myself in village life was a once in a lifetime experience and one I will cherish forever. Getting involved in a Fijian project was lifechanging, I learned so many new skills, interacted with such a range of people and just truly loved every minute. From spending time with my Fijian family, the food, all of the Fijian ceremonies and everything the village had to offer, I have never felt so welcome from anyone and saw a side of Fiji that many visitors would never get to see. I still speak and am friends with some of the Fijians and other volunteers to this day, and this sums up my TP experience.”
