As someone who walked in as a visitor, and stayed as a soul in bloom.
I didn’t come here searching for paradise. I came with no grand agenda—just a suitcase, a curious heart, and the quiet hope of feeling something real.
And then, somewhere between monsoon rains and sun-warmed jasmine, Sri Lanka folded me into her rhythm.
She didn’t announce herself with grandeur. She whispered. Through golden papaya at roadside stalls. Through the early cries of market sellers.
This island doesn’t perform for you. She invites you—slowly, steadily—into her inner room

We loved planning this honeymoon for return clients Sam and Asa! So glad they chose us again ❤️

🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

We got married in April and when we were thinking about our honeymoon, there was really only one place to go...Sri Lanka!

This is our 2nd trip to Sri Lanka, and our second trip with Beatroute Tours! In fact, it's our second tour with Shiran, the Beatroute chauffeur guide, so we knew that we would be well looked after! Shiran went above and beyond to ensure that we were able to experience as much as possible in his beautiful country. It is also clear that Shiran will do his very best to make things happen for his guests, and making the tour truly personalised and special.
On our first tour in 2019, we went to Sigiriya, Kandy, Galle and the South coast.

This time we travelled to the east coast, avoiding elephants crossing the roads! We revisited Dambulla and this time enjoyed the spectacular views from Pidurangala, which were amazing. We stayed at some fab hotels, including Heritance Kandalama and the amazing Jetwing Kaduruketha, where we ate our way through 4 course breakfasts and were treated like VIPs!

If you have ever thought of going to Sri Lanka, I would highly recommend you do, and I would also recommend you go with Beatroute because you will truly experience a tour personalised for you and with the aim of ensuring you have the best holiday and will probably be planning your next trip there when you get home!

Too hot to do much today but this evening, before dins we headed to the wonderful Kataragama Temple which was as spectacular as ever. We then had a hair raising ride home in the dark through the National Park and thankfully didn’t encounter any elephants 😂

Not gonna lie… we’ve been doing very little apart from sunbathing, eating and swimming whilst staying at Siyam Passikudah.

No one’s complaining though!! ☀️

Today we had the absolute pleasure of spending time in the company of Daya, Nilanka’s childhood friend and Sri Lanka’s very own David Attenborough. We swam with shoals of beautiful tropical fish, turtles and reef sharks. Daya’s knowledge of all things wildlife but particularly the Ocean can not be underestimated and he featured in Episode seven of Blue Planet and can be seen swimming with whales having played a major role in supporting the BBC film crew and production team with his extensive knowledge. We could have listened to his stories for ever and it was particularly humbling listening to him talk about the human impact on the reef and the importance of protecting it 🥺
