⚽🏉🏑 What do you want your players to get from their next sports tour? 🌍

A great sports tour doesn’t have to start with a destination; it can start with a much simpler question - what kind of experience do you want to create for your players?

For some clubs, academies and schools, it’s about competitive fixtures and testing teams against unfamiliar opposition. For others, it might be professional coaching, experiencing elite sporting environments, developing players, strengthening a team or simply giving a group the chance to travel and compete together overseas.

Tell us what you want the experience to achieve and we’ll build your tour around it:

⚽ Compete against new opposition
🏟️ Experience elite sport
🎯 Develop your players

🌍 Or create a multisport experience
Football, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, cricket and more can all form part of a programme - ideal for schools or larger groups wanting to give more young people the opportunity to travel.

Tell us your sport, age group, approximate dates, budget and what you’d like the tour to achieve. From the UK and Northern Europe to Spain, Portugal and Italy, we’ll identify the destination, fixtures and experiences that make sense for your group.

⚽ COACHES: WANT TO SEE HOW ELITE ACADEMIES ACTUALLY WORK? 🇵🇹

This January, we’re taking a group of football coaches to Portugal for four days of coaching, observation and behind-the-scenes access at some of the country’s leading clubs.

This isn’t a sightseeing trip with a bit of football added on.

It’s a coach development experience designed to give you fresh ideas, practical insight and new approaches you can take straight back to your own players.

🇵🇹 29 January - 1 February 2027

During the four days you’ll:

⚽ Take part in a practical coaching session at Benfica Academy
👀 Observe a Sporting CP Academy training session
⚽ Experience a coaching session with Estoril Praia
🏟️ Watch a Benfica Youth Team fixture
🔴 Go behind the scenes at Benfica Stadium & Museum
🎟️ Watch Benfica vs Moreirense in the Portuguese Primeira Liga

And your package also includes:

✈️ Return flights
🏨 4★ accommodation
🍽️ Half-board meals
🙋 Dedicated support from the SLT Tours team

Whether you coach in grassroots football, an academy or a school, this is an opportunity to step outside your usual environment, see how leading Portuguese clubs develop players and coaches, and come home with ideas you can actually use.

⚽ Football parents deserve holidays too.

They’ve done the Sunday mornings.

The 7am alarms.

The motorway service stations.

The muddy touchlines.

The “Have you got your boots?”

The “Where’s your other shin pad?”

And enough takeaway coffees to finance a small café.

So perhaps it’s time football took everyone somewhere a little warmer. ☀️

A team tour or tournament abroad isn’t only an experience for the players.

It can be a few days away for the whole football family.

⚽ Players competing against international opposition.

📣 Parents supporting from the touchline.

🌍 Everyone experiencing somewhere new together.

🍽️ Meals, sightseeing and time away from football.

🏆 And the sort of shared memories that become part of the team’s story long after everyone gets home.

Spain? Portugal? Italy? The Netherlands? Somewhere else entirely?

Bring the players. Bring the coaches. Bring the parents.

We’ll organise the rest.

DM and we’ll sort it. ⚽🌍

🏐🇬🇧 DAY 7 | NETBALL TOUR

Another huge day of netball for our South African girls - followed by a little friendly competition of a different kind! 🎳💙

The girls started the day watching Sheffield Concord take on Sheffield Steel in the Yorkshire Premier League, getting the chance to see some fantastic netball up close. 🏐🔥

Then it was their turn!

The group faced University of Sheffield Netball in a series of tough, competitive matches - another brilliant test against strong opposition and a great experience for the girls after watching the Premier League action earlier in the day. 💪

After seven days packed with netball, training, sightseeing and new experiences, the evening brought a change of sport…

🎳 Bowling night!

A chance to relax, have some fun and enjoy another evening together as a team. 💙

Another fantastic day on tour and another collection of memories to take home. 🌍🏐

📸 Here are some of our favourite moments from Day 7…

⚽ What does youth football look like 1,000 miles from home?

Same game. Same ball. Same rules.

But potentially a very different football experience.

Different opposition. Different playing styles. Different facilities.

Different coaching cultures. Different ways of approaching the game.

And suddenly your players have to adapt.

They’re playing against opponents they’ve never seen before, in unfamiliar surroundings, without knowing exactly what to expect when the whistle blows.

That can be the real value of taking a young team overseas.

It’s not simply about playing football somewhere warmer; it’s about giving players the opportunity to experience the game beyond their usual league, opposition and environment.

And away from the pitch, they’re travelling together, experiencing another country and building the relationships that can make a group stronger when they get home.

Because developing young footballers isn’t only about giving them more of what they already know. Sometimes it’s about showing them something completely different.

Where could your team play in 2027?

⚽ Spain | Portugal | Italy | Netherlands | Belgium & beyond

DM and we’ll sort it. 🌍⚽
