Please note the following changes in the Travel Advisory which will be effective PK9702/24 Feb 2022. It shall *NOT* be applicable on today's LON flight, repeat it will NOT be applicable today. Further, these changes are applicable ONLY on PIA flights. For other airlines please refer to their representative offices.
• PCR test has been abolished for Fully Vaccinated passengers effective Feb 24, 2022 for inbound passengers travelling to Pakistan.
• PCR test (within 72 hours) is required for 06-18 years, if not fully vaccinated.
• Below 6 years; fully exempted from PCR test and vaccination
• All other passengers above 18 years need to be fully vaccinated for travel to Pakistan.
• Vaccination is exempted for 12-18 years old (Pakistani passport holders) till March 31, 2022.
• Vaccination is exempted for 12-18 years old (Foreign passport holders) till further notice.
• Vaccination is exempted for the following categories
o Expired Visa/Illegal immigrants/Deportees
o Medical conditions
o Pregnant women

Bad news for PIA

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has refused to lift the ban imposed on the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to travel to European countries and the UK on the basis of the audit conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

EASA had suspended the authorisation for Pakistani airlines to operate in Europe first for six months and then indefinitely in the wake of PIA’s PK8303 crashing in Karachi two years ago.

On January 5, the ICAO had issued a statement confirming that Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) and Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA) audit conducted by its team from November 29 to December 10 had found that Pakistan had addressed the Significant Safety Concern (SSC).

PIA flight from ISB to MAN was dirverted to London today due to low visibility.

Manchester airport has no visibility for flight take off till late tomorrow evening, therefore, this flight will operate from London tomorrow.

Flight is scheduled at 1615 from Heathrow tomorrow.

Those passengers who wish to go home may do so and reach back in the morning. Buses will be arranged tomorrow for passengers to be taken to London.

Travellers heading to UK will now have to have Covid test before their departure in effort to limit spread of virus, the government has said.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said anyone arriving in the UK will be asked to take a PCR test for Covid-19 on the second day and must self isolate until they provide a negative test.
So lateral flow test are not valid and acceptable anymore

*MOST URGENT:* CAA Pakistan now requires all inbound passengers aged 6, repeat, SIX years and above to take a PCR test within 72 hours departure of the flight. This requirement will be applicable on all PIA flights effective Aug 09, 2021. Please inform all passengers. PCR test is MANDATORY and no passenger will be allowed to board without it.
