Well… well … well … what do we have here then??

It’s only the first Sunday of the month in little old Leek … where in the ‘faster than the speed of night’ (RIP Bonnie Tyler) did August go??

Yes it’s a little damp first thing, but I have it on good authority that sunshine will appear and stay for the rest of the day.

Such an amazing opportunity to start getting ideas for ‘you know what’ in December… and/or … to treat yourself to something which you know has been created by a real person using real ingredients.

Being a woman-owned business, we’ve put a lot of thought into making The Sails Holiday Cottage somewhere that women can feel comfortable, relaxed and safe.

We know that little things can make a big difference, especially if you’re staying away on your own or coming back after a day out exploring.

The Sails is right in Leek town, so you’re close to the shops, cafés, restaurants and everything else, rather than being somewhere isolated. The street is well lit with street lights, there’s a secure, private back garden, and the cottage itself has lots of privacy so you can properly switch off and feel at home.

It’s not about being overly cautious — it’s just about thinking ahead and creating a place where you can arrive, put your bags down and feel at ease. 🤍

Whether it’s a solo break, a girls’ weekend, a mother-daughter trip or just a few nights away for yourself, The Sails has been thoughtfully created with women in mind.

How flipping lucky are we to have a traditional greengrocer in our little market town of Leek. It’s a family run business of 45 years and they also offer fab seasonal boxes for delivery.

Why not pre-order your fruit and veg to be delivered at ‘Sails’ to save all the faff of supermarket shopping … plus bonus points for keeping your pennies local ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Hoorah!!!

I’ve been so excited to collect my glazed painted pot from the workshop the other week, and I’m just a teeny bit proud of it … so much so that I felt I deserved a flipping big slice of homemade lime & coconut cake … homemade (obvs) at the Lion House Tea Room.

Book a stay at ‘Sails’ and you may just find this little pot tucked away somewhere!!!
